You guys should check out this FMV adventure game on Steam.

Pretty cool FMV game. Perhap, the next Tex Murphy game could go like this all FMV? What you guys think of this game?

Okay, I'm only a minut into the video, and I like it. But then again, it's one of the aspects of Tex Murphy I've always loved.

Is it on GOG? Or somewhere other han Steam? I'm not a big fan of Steam.

I purchased it some time ago on itunes, glad to see they have a pc version now . I haven't played it for a while as I got stuck and couldn't progress. I actually forgot about it so I
decided to pull out the ipad to have another go, managed to progress to another 2 percentages. They have now released a few updates & also added some cheats .

When I purchased it, there was no help available & probably seeing people were struggling getting through they have now made it a bit easier.

this is full FMV no game play involved except clicking on the map in the town.

I love this game. It reminds me of the very best episodes of Columbo, which itself was flawless.

after now finishing the game I would have to say it was pretty boring. It has FMV but that's all it has going for it.

Imagine a Tex murphy game and all you did was wonder up & down chandler avenue & ask questions and nothing else ...no puzzels or no other locations, that's what this game is.

That's disappointing. The trailer looked pretty promising. Thanks for the update.

Now if you want to play a excellent FMV check out "missing" on steam. Now this is what I call a game...so far only 1 episode $3.99

So we bought the game anyway (even though it's only on Steam :( ). It was OK. The gameplay was certainly smooth; the video editing was very good IMHO, not forcing us to wait through long sequences over and over. The navigation map was well done. The story was interesting, if not spectacular.

What did bother us is that some of the official contradictions were pretty obscure, especially 1 of them. Other things that we felt are obvious contradictions didn't work — the game says they're not. So, there is some inconsistency in the game logic.

The thing we noted, despite the promo video's claim to the contrary, is that there is a fair amount of overacting.

I would give it 3 out of 5.

So we played Missing yesterday. It's interesting.

The first surprise was to see Quebec licence plates on the vehicles. I had no idea that Missing is a) from a Canadian company nor b) that it's filmed in Montreal.

The second thing is that there appears to be another game called Missing. I found it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Missing-Game-Year ... ssing+game. Apparently it was released in 2005. Still, it's a little confusing to have 2 games by the same name. Since you specifically mention "Steam" and "episode" I'm sure we got the right one.

The video/player interaction is seamless, even amazing. Everything runs extremely smoothly, so smoothly that a couple of times we were waiting for more acting to occur when, in fact, the game had switched to 'player' mode ;)

The puzzles aren't particularly difficult, but they're not absolute cinches either. Overall, we felt they're a tad on the easy side.

The reflex segments were a bit tougher. We're playing with keyboard & mouse. I'm not sure if it would be easier or harder with a controller. The first time a reflex segment came up, we were taken completely by surprise and totally missed clicking the circle (assuming that the idea IS to click inside the circle and not just click anywhere). In any case, they sure don't give much time to click, at least not if the requirement is to click inside the circle.

Which leads to my question: did you also wind up going to hospital in an ambulance? If we do better in the reflex segments can we get out in better shape?

EDIT: I played it again with a new profile and I think I got all the click circles OK this time. I still wound up in the ambulance. I would be interested to know if anyone else got any other results.
