You're going to think I'm either exaggerating or insane, but a relatively new band has just come out of Japan. No band has changed my life like this since Kiss (yes, i'm that old, but I guess that's not a surprise on a Tex Murphy board haha).

They're called Babymetal. If you are a fan of hard rock/heavy metal you simply must go to YouTube and search for Babymetal Gimme Chocolate (yes, that's actually what the song is called).

You're welcome.

I've been into anime for a long time so I've come across a lot of amazing Japanese musicians/bands over the years.

One of my more recent favourites is Supercell, I love the mix of modern and classical instruments:

But a long-standing one for me (as far back as the 90s) would be singer Maaya Sakomoto, her voice is so beautiful.

I've been hearing about this babymetal group for a few months now from many unlikely sources.

Finally went on youtube and checked them out.

I like heavy metal as much as the next guy and grew up to some extent listening to it.

Is the group supposed to be some kind of Spinal Tap joke type thing? I will say the videos make me laugh, but I've heard so much about them lately that I expected something completely different and more mature, I guess. I 'll have to listen to them a bit more.

Life-changing though? I dunno.

Oh yeah, what's with the Virgin Mary in the background?

Being an old fart, I don't like heavy metal (unless you count Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and such as heavy metal ;)
