It's 3000x2250 pixels, no clue how many megapixels that is but it's big so it should look a little better as a desktop image. Anyway, enjoy. Hope it stays up for a long time for everyone to get.

He showed a Picture where the graphics were really messed up, so I figured I'd ask...

I dunno, the first two games in the series fit perfect, the others are too clean however.
Meanwhile those cartridges look in good condition.. you might want to age the texture a bit (assuming it was done in 3D, if not then its pretty easy in photoshop :D)

Pretty cool idea though

That is a really well done hoax! I guess the labels do look a bit clean though. My old Atari 2600 cartridges are probably still in fairly good nick, not touched them in years. I made a list somewhere but I typically can't find it when I need it...... hmm but I think I have Centipede, Crystal Castles, Ghostbusters and some others I don't remember.

I never had an Atari, but I had an old Amstrad 32k thingy. Still do. Got games like Manic Miner and Redhawk and an ancient copy of Winter Games.

Good times.

Atari was Awesome in its day... River Raid, Original Pitfall, Breakout, the Boxing game, they were just Too Kewl For School, about 25 years ago that is...

I read the games you listed and was reminded of a game I've not thought about for YEARS. Did you ever play River City Ransom, for the NES? Aw man, that was an awesome game!

It was about these two guys, two friends, who're trying to save one of them's girlfriend from a gang. You run around town beating the crap out of gangmembers, and you could even work out to increase your stats, eat to replenish your health, and walk into stores, talk to people, and find out where the girlfriend was at.

It received cult status not long after. It had very nice graphics for the NES, too.
