I just scrolled down and saw a similar problem with a response to disable the midi in the set up - I did this and it has cured the problem

When I am in Gideon's Gallery and click the rods onto the chandelier, the programme crashes.
This happens whether I run it from my original disks or from the file I downloaded from GOG.
I have tried reinstalling and also installed the tmos104.exe update but to no avail.
Anyone got any ideas ??

Thank you ever so much for yor response - I bought Pandora Detective last night from GOG and downloaded it and it runs beautifully on my Windows 7 machine.
I am extremly grateful to you for your help

I have recently upgraded my computer to Windows 7 and purchased Tex Murphy - Overseer several years ago. I originally installed it on a machine running Windows 98 and it ran very well. I tried about 5 years later (now) to install the same game on my new Windows 7 machine but all I get is the message...
