Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

I tried removing registry entries as you suggested, but the same symptoms remained. Have you tested this with the GOG version of UaKM? That's what I use, and I imagine many do too. I don't have the original disc version anymore. Maybe the GOG version is different in some way? Your WinTex.exe obviou...

Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

Hi, season's greetings and I wish you all the best. I just tried your 1.0 WinTex.exe, but nothing opened when I ran it. I went back to your 0.9 WinTex.exe, and it gave a DMAP.LZ error. I used different compatibility settings, to no avail. As I posted earlier in the thread, it used to work. I was us...

Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

...But when I "look" at an object and hear Tex's comments, I cannot move until Tex finishes talking. The original game lets you go back to movement mode while you hear Tex. Some of Tex's dialog is long, so you may want to let the player move while he is talking. You can click on the left mouse butt...

Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

Thanks for the feedback, MD. I'll see if I can include those changes in the next release (no idea when that will be).

Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

I didn't realize it had been this long since my last update. Anyway, I have had some time to continue the project over the last 6 months, to the point where it is approaching release-worthiness. The latest version can be found here: WinTex v0.9 All modules should now be implemented (but are not nece...

Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

Mouse wheel will cycle held item, 'i' opens inventory (drag/drop to combine) and 't' opens travel screen. Same link I have neglected to mention that I'm testing this against the GOG version...

Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

Hi Cubase, Which Windows version are you running? Are you getting an error message, or it just doesn't do anything? Is it a virtual or physical machine? All my machines have developer environments installed, could be one or more extra dlls are required. I'll compile a version with more error handlin...

Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

I have just uploaded a new version. A couple of things were easier than expected, other things still elude me. WinTex teaser 2 It is now possible to look at things, open drawers and doors (you can exit to main street, go and speak with Chelsee), and pick stuff up. Right click while pointer is over i...

UAKM for Windows - Teaser

Hi everyone, I finally got some time to continue my investigation of the old UAKM file formats, and just wanted to share my progress. Most location data is now decoded, so I've put together an exe to walk around in Tex' office. http://www.mediafire.com/file/gld5toui8tt3nif/WinTex-teaser.zip Just unp...

Re: Rare Tex Murphy Screenshot

I finally have a publishable version of my UAKM AP reader. http://www.mediafire.com/download/3kri406bhz499v5/APReader-v0.3.rar .Net framework 4 required. Not all videos play properly, I'm still looking into the issue. Supports exporting videos to avi, but beware, format is 24-bit uncompressed, even ...

Re: Rare Tex Murphy Screenshot

AP files are simply multiple files merged into one. The first 16 bit value (little endian) is the offsets counter, followed by that many 32-bits pointers where the last entry points to the end of the file. Dissecting the individual files is where the fun starts... Files that start with 'DBE' (or 'AC...
