Canadian Tex Radio Drama from 1997.
Back in 1997, tex fans were posting an Internet address to purchase a Canadian radio show of Pandora Directive. Here is one such referrence: http://www.geocities.com/timessquare/al ... erusty.htm
That webpage said it was once available to buy from this website: http://www.kent.net/dspaudio/about.htm
I called the producer of the radio show yesterday, his name is DAVID FARQUHAR. He told me that if enough people were interested in buying copies of this 2 hour show of Pandora Directive from 1997, then he could make it available to the public to purchase again (their show is a representation of the whole Pandora game).
David Farquhar talked with Aaron Conners in the late 90's, and got permission and a blessing to do the show.
(This might have been the inspiration for the 2001 Tex Radio series).
If this is interesting to you all, let's tell the community and tally up a number I can bring back to David with.
If this is of no interest to you at all, then this might be a dead idea.
What do you think?

Interestingly enough; out very own Demonlawyer recorded the voice over for a Pandora Directive audio book a little while back, and sent me the CDs for mastering.
Whilst I did not get around to mastering (not yet anyway, sorry David
) I think within the next couple of weeks I might just have to get cracking. He has done a great job and it's good for the visually impaired.
In regards to a Pandora Directive Audio Drama, good idea yes, but what I found the most difficult task was finding the right calibre of voice actors to carry the story. From a technical/creative side, I never saw a problem, most of you already know that.

I think Cub thought the suggestion was to record a new audio drama rather than purchase this already-made one.
Nice to hear there's more audio stuff on the way though Cub, I look forward to it
As to the topic: Sounds interesting, 2.5 hours is quite alot. I wish that Chris Jones had played Tex Murphy in it though, no offence meant to Tony Poser of course. It says it isn't just a reading of the book which is good. I wonder how it fairs against the Radio Theater. To be perectly honest, I think I'd like an audio sample too.

I remember when this project was being prepared for release, but it never actually made it, as I recall. I was sent a copy of the interview they conducted with AC, which was fairly informative at the time. I'd not only be interested to hear the Pandora adaptation, but if Mr. Farquahr would be willing to re-release that interview as well, that would just be icing on the cake.asphirosis wrote:Back in 1997, tex fans were posting an Internet address to purchase a Canadian radio show of Pandora Directive. You're right James... I had a copy of the trailer/epilogue of the Radio Play... it was downloadable from my Tex Murphy Boulevard site (which is still running somehow: http://www.geocities.com/cubase_vst/Tex ... dMain.html
It was in the downloads section and located here:
http://www.users.bigpond.com/dsebire/fi ... _sample.rm
According to that web address it was last in Darren Sebire's possesion... but alas, the link is broken (his website has since gone down) since it was about 6 years since it was uploaded... so the only way of getting a copy of the Dramatisation clip is to somehow contact Darren. He used to be a member of the old UOTM Message Board under the name 'Eribes' ('Sebire' backwards).

Looks like it was on sale, yes.. but according to AudioTheater.com it has been dormant (...or been abandoned) since 1998.

Yeah I just realised my participation in this whole thread was completely out of context. That's what happens when you are squeezing in posts between client meetings and sometimes in front of clients! I apologise for my ramblings.Sai wrote:I think Cub thought the suggestion was to record a new audio drama rather than purchase this already-made one.Nice to hear there's more audio stuff on the way though Cub, I look forward to it
But now in context, if this is indeed the will of the council then Gondor will see it done (bad LOTR joke). I would be lining up to buy a copy if it went on sale.
