Now this is getting interesting guys!
Take a pick out of the following:
Your answer = No, I will not buy or support a game with Tex with product placements, like Camels instead of Lama's or even with "crazy" features as Cubase elaborated about. And with this choice I totally accept the pure fact that never another Tex game will hit the market
Your answer= Yes, I do want a new Tex game and I will accept the fact that there will be advertorials or product placements (all over the place)

Well I know product placement has gone crazy... but I prefer product placement compared to stright out advertising. Product placement can at least "appear" un-invasive, where as there is no escaping an Ad Break.
If games had to have commercial breaks every now and again I would give up in an instant. A little product placement won't hurt that much though.
Of course, they will have to be careful what they avertise becuase they are already very sensitive with censorship as it is. So no beer or personals ads in family games.
There is also a certain cool factor with product placement integration into gaming platforms. Like seeing film posters of new and upcomming titles on the streets of a game. It adds a certain level of realism.

I think product placement if preferable to the "almost - but not quite the real thing." It adds a touch of reality to the virtual world.
Also, I think phoney products are a distraction. They bring more attention to themselfes than if they were the real thing because we notice that they're similar to the real thing, but not. For instance, when Tex pulls out a Lama, we shouln't be thinking "That's a Lama, but in real life it would be a Camel. I wonder why they didn't just use Camels?"
Meanwhile, product placement has already been used in TM games. The Links box in UAKM for example.

Yeah, Jennifer. Dag Horton made a GRAVE mistake by tossing UAKM box away. He paid for it with his life!Jen wrote:And the UAKM box in the Intro to Pandora. The way the BAK tosses the game to the side, like it's a piece of garbage-seriously, made me crack up. I think those were only little jabs and injokes though.
Truly yours,
Alexander.

OH!!! So THAT'S the reason Tex attacked him! And all this time I thought it had to do with the BAK attacking Emily....shesh...I am so dense...
