Impressive 3D Face Software

Wow I was looking at random things on YouTube and I came across something that is highly beneficial. It wasn't all that impressive until it got to the 2 minute mark when the photo of Tom Hanks is applied. When you see it it'll BLOW YOUR MIND . . . or not. I can't really speak for everyone. Man could you imagine applying this to Tex and company? Could make a completely 3D movie in no time. Well at least the characters anyway. Might take a little while to animate them, about 10-15 minutes tops. *sigh* a guy can dream can't he? Here's the link:

You're right, ES, that was truly amazing. Makes one wonder if that could be done with Tex and the gang.
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
Yeah saw that too... was on the list next to the Sims 2 video I posted, yes?

Darn impressive... sometimes it's amazing that the programs work as well as they do, despite the fact that the aim seems totally impossible.

The amount of times I've wanted to reconstruct a charatcer in a photo and just couldn't... and now this!? what next?

Yeah, this gives some hope that at least if we can't have another FMV-based Tex adventure (but hopefully we will) then at least the technology is there to make the computer generated avatar/character of Tex look close to his real-life counterpart. But the other factor is movement, expression and general demeanor etc. and all the other skills that come with acting out a role.

Anyone ever heard of FaceGen? That program does scans too.
FaceGen was used recently in the Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion for generating "uniquely" looking characters. Which was basically the only part of the game I actually liked. Its a very easy program to use, and it gets pretty good results. I think they've got a Trial version.. so you could theoretically use Chris's face and try it out. Then just tell AC about what you did and he'll love you to death for it :D

Animating those faces would be really hard--if it's not done properly I think it'd just look creepy.
Hey check this out lol :D I used the scene from PD where Tex hassles Nilo.
Well its a very crappy res image so this is quite impressive, just imagine how good it'd look using a High Res. Unfortunately I tried using Overseer and theres just too much bad lighting that makes Chris' skin go all pink. Please post good Front and Side on images in this thread please cause I could really use them. (good resolution preferable)

Bruce Willis?!
Face gen doesn't do hair yet. So just imagine him with a fedora on :D
Bruce Willis with a fedora on??

The shape of his jaw is quite good, actually. I think profiles will majorly help. Unfortunately, I have no such scans.

Speaking of a cg-Tex, take a look a this little model and animation I did a little while ago - it's not very lifelike but I feel there's a resemblance...

Let me know what you think ~ if the server's down try a little later

It looks good, but its a bit squashed. My advice to you would be use Image Panels of CJs face - it'd be easier on you and it'd look more closer to the original tex. Your version has somewhat of an animated feel to it which we want to steer clear of - because doing that has killed so many franchises in the past.
Thanks rockefeller, you make tex alive again!
An other video please!

Well he looks pretty darn good (in a badass way) wearing one. It's one of the more satisfying aspects of Last Man Standing.
