The Pandora Directive - Graphics

I've been concurrently playing (thank god for VDMS) and reading (thx Jim!) the Pandora Directive during these last few weeks and have really been soaking up the nostalgic trip. Even with the aged technology the game still oozes atmosphere, and reading the novel as I play releases another thick layer into it.
The reason for this thread is that I was hoping that the technically learned among you would be able to give me some tips on how to force mip-map the graphics engine, that is to make the graphics smooth and less pileated. I don't know if it's possible, I've tried using various programs that supposedly force mip-mapping but obviously didn't work...Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I know how to for Overseer but I'm still trying to figure it out for PD and UAKM. For some reason DOS and DOSBOX doesn't work with modern graphics card forcing mip-maps. Overseer works with modern graphics so you can get it looking really sweet (my computer runs it at 16xAASLI and it looks damn nice :D But the crashes ruin the game so it resorts in me having to turn off everything)
Yeah Overseer had built in AGP support. Actually I plan to give the DVD version another go as soon as I'm done with PD, IF I can get it to work that is :)
It's a shame I know nothing about coding cos The Pandora Directive would be one of the first games I would try and mod - the game is still fantastic, and with a graphics and movie quality overhaul it would only be better.
I think your main problem is: UAKM or Pandora do not use DirectX.

-Cub. =o)
Yeah being DOS games and all :)
The thing is that seeing as DOSbox has an option to filter graphics I thought there might of been some way to force mip-mapping via some other program (as PD with Dosbox is too slow for me). Old emulated console games have filtering options too, so again I thought there may of been a way. Ah well...
Try and get DosBox at around 24000 Cycles that is about around where the game is completely optimum and has no sound stuttering. (you may need to tweak it depending on if you can hear cracking)

As for modding.. Best option would be to rip all of the FMVs and sound, and port them into a modern engine - also I'd be cleaning the FMVs up with modern technology. But yeah its possible to remake the series with better graphics.

Cub did a nice resoration of all the Music from the games - which sound better than the original game so that could be used in a remake.
