Battle Royale! (new Sig an Av)
I was getting a bit stick of funky shapes that actually relate to nothing in my sigs so here's one that actually represents something.
It may not be one of the bestest sigs of all time... but its for one of the bestsest films of all time!
For those who have not seen it, it is a must! After seeing it, it instantly made my top 5 list (which is a huge challenge for any film).

You have no idea. I just started renting the entire box set of the royal rumbles from Blockbuster. First one ever was won by ole Hacksaw Duggan, and I was surprised to see Big John Stud won the second one. I was under the impression Hulk Hogan won a lot of the earlier ones. I'm on 90, now, and I think Hogan *did* win that one.netroam wrote:Seems to me someone's watching the WWE a lotAnd yes - I do know that as well - my favourite battle royal being the Royal Rumble
I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
Battle Royale is a japanese movie where in the future, the children are so many and so wild in school that the government has enacted the Battle Royale act. This means that once a year one entire schoolclass is kidnapped by the military and put on a remote island, given food and water for three days, a random weapon ranging from a combat shotgun to a pot-lid, a compass and a map - and also an explosive necklace around their necks. And a time-limit that says that within 3 days you must kill eachother or we kill all of you.
Basically it's a bunch of japanese schoolchildren with guns who shoot, stab and kill eachother violently.
Great film, I love it

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Indeed you do...
It may seem like senseless violence... but you have to see the violence as a vehicle Fukusaku used to convey the themes and ideas in the film, and its done brilliantly. It's messages are about trust, friendships and relationships, and human nature.
It has been described as Lord of the Flies, meets Survivor... with guns, and is stylistically brilliant!
Also, the girls are very Kawaii.

P.S. It's not really set in the future... its meant to be set in the present day, or not far from it.

Uhh, it's been awhile since I saw it. I just remember the beginning of the movie to say "In the future...".
Anyways... what does Kawaii mean?

It actually says "At the dawn of the millenium..." and the film was made in 2000... so we can assume it is present time.
Also, Kawaii means Cute. So if you want to say to a girl "you are cute" you would say: "anata wa kawaii desu", but it is actually more common practise to use the persons name rather than calling them "you". e.g (if someone was you say you were cute, Fred (I am sure you get it all the time
) they would say: "Furedu san wa kawaii desu." (Fred, you are cute).

Dinner and a movie, pal! *snicker*
Furedu! That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long long time
At the dawn of the millenium was the first phrase, that's right. I recall now that you mention it. By the way, my favorite scene is the one with the water-pistol. You know the one.
