Shadowrun .... ehhh ....
Well, I just put the demo through it's paces, and I'm seeing a mixed bag of nuts here. The people who loved this game for its RPG roots are going to be pissed. But if you're the type who enjoy online squad based FPS games, AND RPGs, you might come away from this one actually pleased with the progress they're making.
The magic powers in the game (The ones I could mess around with), were okay, but nothing spectacular stands out. Some spells are almost entirely worthless (The force push thing stands out ... I think the mechanics on that one are still broken, because I couldn't get it to work properly on the demo training section ... but when it comes to using it in a battle situation, I always find a good machine gun is better) some are awesome (teleportation is the greatest thing ever in a FPS in my opinion. I had a lot of fun with that, and the glider.)
The guns are about what I expected, nothing spectacular, at least not in the demo.
I think if people latch on to it, it might be as big as Rainbow Six, when it comes to clan matches and the community aspect of it. Just don't look for too much of a story on this one. The little blurbs they did have on story in the game for yawn inducing, although the training mission guy who walked you through the controls was cool.
But overall, if they're aiming for epic status with this one, they're missing the mark in my opinion. It just seems all ho-hum to me, without any true atmosphere.

I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
