The Simpsons Movie today.

I am so frackin excited I could climb the highest mountain. I could swim the largest sea. I could follow the longest rainbow, just thinkin of you and me.

This is gonna be great. The really good thing is. I am such a Simpsons fan that even if the movie blows horse dangles, I'm going to love it.

I saw it last night. Let me say this.

I am a huge fan. I seemingly am one of very few people who still finds things to laugh at in each new episode.

Saying this means you might want to take my opinion with a grain of salt...

Having said that, this movie was f'ing brilliant! I don't think there was a time when people weren't laughing in the cinema. Not just chuckles either, boisterous out loud laughter.

I will be seeing at least once more to catch some of the lines i missed :)

I'm exactly the same way. I love the new episodes despite everyone else's hatred.

Already did one for a mod community. :D
Great flick!!!
Started out laughing at Bart's chalkboard sentence, and rarely stopped till Homer started eating the popcorn spilled on the movie theatre floor.

I adore Lisa Simpson, always have.
There were some great lines from everyone.
"stupid people paying money to see what they could watch at home for free."
Beautiful!
The film was great!

I was also totally blown away with how the music was composed by Hans Zimmer!

My review

The Simpsons still manages to be the longest running animated series in the history of television. They continually make us laugh, think and faily seldom make us shed a tear. Whatever the reaction, it's a show that appeals to a wide audience from as young as 4 to as senior as 80 and possibly beyond.

The movie is no exception to this as it remains very faithful to that of the television series. Funny though the film is, there are many familiar moments from the series that even a casual fan would identify in the film. For instance, the slapstick moments involving Homer in Alaska (being the victim of an avalanche and attacked by wolves). Then there's the desperate attempts of Milhouse to win Lisa SImpson's heart over in only the most sleaziest manner.

Those hoping for dozens of cameos will be disappointed as there are only 2. Meanwhile, the townsfolk of Springfield act as an ensemble and less of a principle cast as they do in the show.

Is The Simpsons Movie a bad film? No way! But it's certainly not as strong as it could have been. Audiences expecting the film to take risks and go places that the Simpsons never have will walk away empty handed. Think of the film as an epic 3 part episode shown in 1 presentation. What you see is what you get, The Simpsons. There's no elaborate tricks or revelations, but it's still a funny film with some of the best one liners to come out of the franchise yet, though not a constant feature.

The fans will enjoy the movie but won't love it as much. FOr a film that has been in development for possibly over 10 years, one would expect something more. But Hanz Zimmer has done a fine job scoring the film not to mention how brilliantly everything is drawn.

A fun, light hearted film that is sure to satisfy but not shatter the earth.

3 out of 5. [/b]

Speaking of Simpsons movie. Out here in Seattle, we had a Kwik E Mart set up a block or two from the space needle to drum up more interest for the movie (how is that possible?)
