So I was listening to Gamespot's latest podcast

Towards the end they played a bunch of recorded phone messages from listeners commenting on who they'd like to have directing the next Metal Gear Solid game. One guy actually said "Access Software's Chris Jones". Since Aaron wasn't mentioned at all I assume it wasn't anyone of us who made that call right? :D
Not me, that's pretty funny.

No, it wasn't me, obviously.
But I'm so glad to hear that there's still some buzz going on, and the "Guys" are still so revered. :D
"Metal Gear Solid" sounds like something you'd find in Tex's inventory. Some sort of a protective vest perhaps.

Actually I see a lot of similarities between Snatcher and Tex Murphy :D. But if I had to say I'd probably pick James Cameron because of his previous work.

Also just so you know, in the credits of UAKM it said "Directed By Chris Jones" so I assume the caller was referring to that.
Jen your new avatar is... well at first it made me laugh, then it made me cry.

It's obviously a reference to her fan-fiction which is progressing smoothly :D

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Thanks guys.
I've got a case of....oh my lord this writing is crap going on.
I know its a little late of a response, but James Cameron is traditionally only a good director when he has a female in the lead role; and Hollywood rumors have it that hes even better in bed, even when it's not his own (or his wife's). I guess thats what happens when you can convince the starring woman that the movie Titanic is really about submerging a "titanic plastic iceberg" into the middle of a "feminine fuselage". But I guess thats what happens when people don't read the script before they take their clothes off for a special scene; and perhaps even worse, before they even think to ask just why the only camera looking at them is a small Sony camcorder.

Eh? Something I've missed about James Cameron or what?

Isn't he the guy that did the first Terminator film? That married their female actress in the lead role (can't remember her name off the top of my head)? That then cheated on her after years of marriage with the girl from the Titanic movie, which then led to their divorce?

Or am I getting him mixed up with someone else?

Rison
Yeah. But I mean his work is great. He's done similar films to MGS so I don't see why not.
The second Terminator-film too. Which imho is one of the best sequels ever made as far as sequels go. He went two for two with Aliens as well.

In fact, I was hoping upon hearing about the Alien vs Predator movie that it'd be set in the future, and we'd get more Colonial Marines. Of course, that was not to be. Neither will it this time, with AvP 2 coming soon. And it, too, is set in Present Day Earth.

Sucks...

Linda Hamilton was the female lead in Terminator I and II.
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
So, how did we get from "Access Software Chris Jones" to "Linda Hamilton"?

Sometimes the paths these threads take makes my brain hurt!
