POST NUMBER 100! + A BIG THANK YOU TO MY FRIENDS HERE.

Hello,
I know that this is extremely self-indulgent thread, but after many years of membership, I felt it necessary to harangue it.

Today I turn 100....100 posts that is!

There is a little pay off with this thread to and that is just to thank everyone here that i've got to know over the years which has been keeping me coming back for more and more. As i've stated before, I know I haven't been the most consistent member in terms of participation since i've been trying to stay afloat day to day commitments, but I do adore this community and what it stands for. I'm a huge Tex fan and do endeavour to give more to this community.

Cub:
as I have in the past, I cannot continue to thank you enough for your friendship, laughs and off beat philosophies. It's such a gift to keep in touch with someone who is on a similar wavelength in personality, intellect and general interests. We've dreamed longer than I can remember about collaborating on a project and can only hope one day it will be a reality. With just a 1 hour flight between our cities, anything is possible.

Jim the old guy:
i've always believed that every community or club needs an admirably whimsical person just to step outside of the zone and consider possibilities. Add a whole heap of life experience and knowledge, then I believe we find someone like Jim. With Jim, there are no ambiguous areas. He calls a spade a spade but without contempt. He's warm and informed. Plus he knows how to crack a good joke!

RyanPatton:
This is a person that always seems to have his finger on the pulse of many things happening around here and without him, we'd be chasing one another's tails like lost dogs in a dark dark, slummy alley running off Chandler Avenue. In his posts, with quantity comes quality. He always seems to come up with the goods and keeps it interesting. Whether it be UFO's, wishing someone a happy birthday, being optimistic regarding the relatively inert state of the Tex series or even those quirky and unrelated threads that don't seem to have much to do with anything, he's always in fine form.

Jen:
I know this sounds strange, but i've always kind of seen her as the Godmother of this community. I don't know what it is, but she's always there with a positive spirit. Maybe it's those happy birthday wishes or the fact she is so approachable. I think if anything ever goes sour, we can rely on her to lift the mood and try to move on. I think if ever you needed anything, she'd be there for you. Thanks Jen!

mr_cyberpunk:
Cyberpunk. Melbourne might have taken the Grand Prix out of Adelaide but they sure as hell made sure they didn't lose Cyberpunk. In a funny way, we can always depend on Cyberpunk to get on his hight horse and call it like it is. If there's a game to be slammed, he'll slam it well. As for those who deserve praise, he's very kind in those situations. It's a shame, Cub and Cyberpunk are two really awesome fellow Australians which I still haven't met. What's going on, guys?

demonlawyer:
We finally have something in common! I'm now a law student, hoping to follow in the steps of the great man himself. The last couple of years i've been trying to transfer accross to Law and I finally made it in. Demonlawyer's name taunted me just to try harder and harder. What do you know? I made it. As for the Demon, his contributions here fall nothing short of what you'd expect from a person with such a nickname. He's sharp, to the point and I wouldn't be surprised if he's completed all 3 Tex Interactive Movies on Gamer mode.

Mr. Thomas Malloy:
when I learned that he was an avid Die Hard fan, I knew we had yet another interesting member of this great family. Like Jen, he comes accross as the type of guy you just expect to be there. It would be strange to come to the forum, read a bunch of new posts and not find Malloy's there. To throw into the bargain, the contributions are ALWAYS worthwhile.

James LeMosy:
You'd be mad and disrespectful not to know or acknowledge the work of this man. Without James, I seriously doubt we'd have any fandom. Without fandom, there's no demand and without that, Aaron would have simply moved on. Through the website and forum, James has allowed Tex to live on our computer screens in the most unique and personal way. While it's bitterly disappointing that we don't have a new game, as cheesy as this sounds, we have each other. I know! It sounds like a line from an American teen drama show, but how true is it? Tex lives on in our hearts and memories. James has worked extremely hard for this community and continues to at present. James, please don't give up. Even if Aaron completely writes off the possibility of another Tex game, leave us with the one thing that's keeping us going- each other. Thank you so much!

I really wish I had the time to go through every member of this board because you all make contributions which are unique and interesting- I intend to get to know you. From the people listed, they're the ones that I have got to know over the years and endeavour to build upon our friendship even further plus meet some of those obscure members that I am yet to get to know.

Here's to 100 posts and the many hundreds to follow!
Congratulations on your 100!

It's good to know you have been maintaining a vast repertoire of positive memories from this online sanctuary many of us call a home away from home. Whilst geographically our differences vary from 1 hour to many more, I will always consider this pace to be my home (page that is), as I am sure many here feel the same way. It's hard to equate the importance of this place into any given figure, but as with anything it is the sum of its parts that make the final product truly remarkable.

Anyway, I still look forward to the day where we may finally meet up and in person exercise our ability to one day turn dreams into reality.

Thanks for the well wishes, and you're most welcome anytime mate.

Thanks Joel. It's such a warm and friendly place to visit, especially with folks like you. Here's looking at your next 100 and beyond....

Much love.

Jen

Congratulations!

I must say, when I thought about Jen as godmother, the first thing that struck me was a pinstripe suit, fedora, slick shoes... and the "What I have done to deserve such disrespect"-speech from Godfather.

I know, I know...

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
It's a pleasure. Thanks for being here!
Here's to 100 more! (in which you notice me...) ;)

You know, your name is remarkably familiar given your relatively low (but rising!) post count. That must mean that your contributions are noteworthy. Well done!

Hey there, Jerry! Thanks for the kind words. I actually have noticed your comments over the years too which have been quite insightful. Don't worry, you're all stars in my eyes, but I feel the list i've written is the absolute core of this community that's needed at minimum for it to operate. However, that's not to overshadow or de-value anyone else's presence here.

I probably am familiar because in reality, I think i've probably made up to about 500 posts. I think i've actually been a member since about 1999 during my scholastic years where I had plenty of free time to spend here. However, my profile (along with everyone else's) was deleted and all my posts with it due to the Mike Rulz war which is what persuaded James to impose registration on the forum. This sadly led to having to start a brand new profile and build it from scratch. Since then, i've only had the time to contribute 100 posts. So, yes, i'd say I would be familiar.
Oh come now, I haven't been around long enough to know what the Mike Rules war was. I *have* to know about this! Do Tell!

And thanks for the kind words. Sometimes I don't feel like I'm much around here, because I'm the resident fast food worker to all you big wig lawyer, and technician types. But deep down, you guys are my people. As far as internet communities go, even if we were to never see anything Tex again, (god forbid, I know that's like blasphemy or something ... ) I did come out of this knowing a lot of people that are just really cool.

And I have learned a lot more about some technologies than I ever will just by following some of the tech threads, and such. So I've been educated all the while!

Grats on the big 100, and you know we'll all reach Jim the old guy status some day. It's just that he'll be at post 1000000 by that time, and we'll still be wondering how he does it.

As an edit to this, I just realized that Cubase's count is higher than Jims! Why wasn't I told about this?! Why wasn't there a grand party and changing of the guard session?!?
I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
The MR war basically revolved around a user named Mike Rulez who was hellbent on excercising his right to what he perceived to be freedom of speech. Sadly, this involved unleashing frequent, heavily abusive comments toward other users. While I can't repeat what was said...put it this way, it was enough for James to overhaul membership policy of this board.

Definitely a milestone in the history of this board.
Congrats at 100 and thanks for the kind words.

Cub has been over Jim in posts for a good while Malloy. I a little ashamed you didn't notice earlier.

Congratulations Joel.
