Aurora the secret within

Hi guys,
I'm sorry if it had already been posted but I couldn't find anything on it anywhere...
I will keep it simple... WHAT THE HELL IS THAT GAME?

http://www.lexiconentertainment.com/pro ... ucts_id=47

It's Pandora Directive all over again, they even have a "Tex Murphy" picture on one of the screenshots!

Does anybody know something about that ?

Wow, some definite similarities. Most likely a fan who was very inspired by Pandora. The news stand is taken straight from Tex, and the picture on the desk is a nice touch in my opinion. Hopefully it's not just a rip-off.

Well lets hope the image of Tex on the character's desk is a tribute to his hero... and not his life-partner.

Not that there would be anything wrong with that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIGHT?????

No homophobes here am I CORRECT?????

Good eye Rampa, and welcome to the board. Me thinks I might have to give that a look see.

No. There would be plenty wrong with that.

If the game designers want to create their own gay characters, more power to 'em. But the idea of taking an existing, beloved, and *definitely* straight character and portraying him as a latent homosexual - that would be very wrong.

I'm with the doc on this one.

I would agree that the game designers should not be able to take license to make Tex into something that he is not.

That was not the intent of my statement.
Read second sentence again, about homophobes.

That is what I meant.

That being said, it's all out there anyway. Read any teen and adult Fan fiction forum. There's plenty of slash/erotic fiction in all configurations and permutations.

Yeah thanks cub about the razz for my punctuation. :(
For whatever it's worth, I just ordered it.
Shipping from overseas, so it might take a little while.
You might want to check out this page at Just Adventure. One of the posts has a link to a downloadable demo. It's 48 MBytes. I'm downloading it right now, so I have played it yet. I hope it's a playable demo and not just a copy of the video. I'll let you know when I've had a look at it. The download is kind of slow (only 75KB/sec) so it is taking a while.

Anyway, here's the link to the Just Adventure page.

I'm getting tons of error codes.
The picture has changed. It does not match the previous screenshot.

I'm also not getting any audio.
I downloaded the demo and tried playing it.

The demo is a playable game. I am sorry to say that I am a bit disappointed with the demo. Maybe it's just the limitations of the demo version. The 3D world in the demo is nothing like TM. It is more like Myst. You can move from point-to-point and look at pre-rendered views in different directions, but you can't pan in 360 degrees or move about freely.

Although the demo has music and sound effects it does not appear to have a dialog track. All you get is subtitles but no voice. I am sure that the real game has a dialog track.

FYI, the desk scene looks just like the screen shot, except that Tex's picture is replaced with a computer generated Tex-like figure.
I just noticed something in this game demo.

Ok, the story is about the 1947 flying saucer crash in Roswell.
The detective's name is Max Pileggi.

Is it just a coincidence, or is there something to it that the actor who played Skinner on the X-Files was Mitch Pileggi? Hmm. The Truth is out there.

I'm trying to figure out what it is you're saying here.

More power to the blood-thirsty lawyers or more poser to the game developers?

Be careful how you answer. Blood-thirsty lawyers standing by.
Developers.

(noticed how I worded that to mean pretty much anything to anyone else but you).
