Hello, im new here....well kind of...

Ive actually been coming here for about 4-5 years now, but I just recently applied for a name to post with. Just wanted to introduce myself as a Tex Murphy addict and lover. One of my best friends and I used to sit and play the games over and over and over back in the day. Recently I told him about this site, and we started talking about the games again about a week ago. It just depresses me that things had grown so silent here on the future of Tex. Then today I come here and I notice the note from Aaron and Chris talking about the possibility of getting an ending to the story. I think that actually just made my day. I come here and read things so often, I know most everyone here, so I figured I would introduce myself to u guys. :P
Welcome. Pull up a chair. It's always great to have a lurker become a poster. I did it for a long time myself....back in the day.
Welcome aboard! Long time lurkers, first time posters are always welcome. Glad to see you finally bit the bullet and introduced yourself!

Welcome. Tell us more about yourself then, you have us at a disadvantage!

Hey Steve!!! Looks like we've found a cyber home away from home with all the Tex-trimmings we needed. For everyone out there, Steve (MacMalden) and I have been friends since 6th grade, and one fateful night back in high school after a local football game, we fired up the pc and started playing a little UAKM and from that point on, it was game on.

Wow, looks like a boardie's in my back yard! How ya doin' sport?

I pretty much got to know about UKM back when it first came out in Norway (1994 I think). My brother's best friend got it for christmas, but his system was too slow to run it. My brother had the fastest computer in a 50 mile radius, so naturally they hooked up to play it. Unfortunately, it seemed it was a bit too complicated for them, which is where I came in. While my brothers best friend manned the wheel of my brother's car, so to speak, I gave directions. It was a wondrous time ~ I must have been about 10. :)

Yeah, Steve borrowed from a friend of ours in high school, I'd say it was like october of 95...I remembered that I had seen it on a computer show who was giving it a review (very high review I might add). We installed it and it just went from there...we literally spent hours clicking on all the pictures in the board room at GRS....."Kid tested, mother approved..." "I'm surprised this guy didn't pose with his favorite weapon.." How about those Hoosiers?!!

Hello from me as well. The name of this thread actually fits perfectly.
I´ve been visiting this page since many years now, but I was rather reading what was going on then writing myself. I guess it´s time to change that right now with my brand new account. :-)
I don´t think I have to mention I´m a huge Tex fan ( since over 12 years) and since then I kept playing UAKM, the pandora directive and Overseer every once in a while. It is so great to see what an endorsing community has grown over here.
Actually I have two favorite gameseries, beside the Tex Murphy games I´m really quite addicted to Jane Jensens Gabriel Knight games.

By the way: For those who understand german- The adventuresite (http://www.adventurecorner.de) I´m working for has just launched a classic section . I wrote the first 6 tests that went online some minutes ago and one of them deals with UAKM. That test will soon be followed by the pandora directive and Overseer.( I´ll write these in the next weeks, maybe earlier depending on how many new games we have to review or how many previews we´ll have to write) Our classic rating system differs from our normal rating system- But I can tell you that the pandora directive and Overseer will both gain the maximum rating of 5/5 which will automatically transport them into our very exclusive Hall of fame( that will be introduced in some months, after we´ve got quite an archive of classic tests online)- I can tell you that 5 is a lot and there probably won´t be many games that will receive that rating from us ( From the tests prepared for the launch so far , it´s only Gabriel Knight1 and 2) That rating is really meant only for games that were milestones within the adventure genre, and we all know Tex deserves it , right? :D
Beside that UAKM got a very well deserved, very good review as well.

Feels good to be an active part of this board from now on- Greetings from Germany!! :D
