Future of Tex (possibilities)

Hey guys, it's a long time since i posted in here. I have a couple of questions about the future of tex murphy.

Since i played Overseer and completed it i am waiting like all members on this site whether we get a new game or not. Over the years many rumours have passed and many ideas were spoken by CJ an AC. It seems we are still (loyal to Tex) waiting and hoping that someday we get the news there will be a new Tex project.

I am just curious and i will allways wait till a new game is developed. But time passes and i sincerely hope for something new to complete the story of Tex. Since playing Tex murphy in my childhood i was allways fascinated by games in which you were to solve puzzles, examinig stuff, figuring things out an most impoirtant of all, you got the feeling you are at all time present in the game/story. (excuse my english if not understood)

In which way can we get a honest and clear answer about the possibilities by the people who created Tex? We may even discuss many ideas for a new game with the creators. I am merely saying that we, together, can do more than individually. If we get a more active role istead of passive, waiting for an answer we could get more done. I am not saying we, the fans, should make it possible with funding or programming. No, that is not what i am saying. I have seen many posts, chats made with CJ and AC, so there are people here who are still in touch with them.

I am just interested about talking about possibilities and to start a discussion. Maybe i am an idiot talking so easily about this subject, but i am true to give my opinion about this.

I agree...we all should get a discussion going about the future of the Tex Murphy storyline. the only progress can be made is if a loud enough roar is made by the Tex Murphy collective so that the people who are in a position to give authority to create another game will give the blessing to do so. I first heard of Tex Murphy when I was 15 on a tech show on local access t.v...they were talking about UAKM and how advanced the game was at the time....after getting my hands on it, I was hooked! And I'm no the only one in my area..there are others..many others. Loyal fans of the Tex Murphy character and it's all attributed to the skillful writing of Aaron Conners and the fabulous portrayal by Chris Jones. I admire and applaud the work that was created by this "dynamic duo" but forgive me for being a tad bit selfish, but , I want more! I cannot get enough of this storyline and until a new game is created and or Aaron Conners finishes the saga via new released novels..I will continue to hang on to the idea that this character, and this "franchise" will not die and end with Overseer or the online radio shows. I refuse to believe that this is the fitting end for our beloved P.I.
"Some men aren’t looking for anything logical. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.”
All I can say is they better do something soon before Chris gets too old to play the Tex Murphy part... I'd hate after all this time to have to try and get use to a New Tex... Know what I'm saying???

I don't really know what else to say... The Radio Episodes were kind of neat, but I wouldn't like it if the game finished out this way...

Does anyone know if there are Actual Movie Capabilities for Tex Murphy??? Could easily be a Movie Series...

I understand the pressure they must be under to try and come up with a New Tex... They would expect us to think/want it to be better than the previous games, obviously so... But can you really come up with enough Original Material to make the game worth playing??? I'm not talking about Storyline or Dialog alone, I talking about the Puzzles and Missions...

I'mwith everyone on this site, I would love for a New Tex to come out... I'm been a true Fan since Mean Streets and Martian Memorandum from the olden days... Moon, Pandora, and Overseer were just beyond great... Making games like that though aren't cheap or easy I'm sure...

All we can do as devoted fans is Hope...
hmmmm A New Tex...

Question being, do we continue with the storyline going the way it is, and have Tex find Chelsea alive in the end??? Or do we do a Retro type Tex and go back to his Younger days even before Martian and Streets, with as painful as it is to say, a New Actor for Tex {note to Chris, You Could Never Be Replaced}???

Is Chris still young enough look to pull the part of Tex off in it's current storyline condition or as he aged too much??? If he has aged, can he be made look young enough to pull off the part??? I realize he loves the Tex character with the rest of us, but is his aging body able to stand up to it??? According to the Radio Episodes there seemed to be quite a bit of action to be in store for Tex...

I mean no ill will against Chris... Truthfully I don't know how old he is... He could have been 25 when he did the others... So he would still be under 40 right???

Well I just went and saw his Interview for Stolen Life, yes while in the middle of typing this... He could still look the part without a doubt...

I'm too lazy to erase everything I already typed... Next time I'll research before typing, maybe... lol

Anyway, so we still have a decently young looking Tex... So I would guess that we continue on with the storyline the way it is... I've heard Tex talk about it in the games, so might I suggest that maybe we bring in some Relatives??? Maybe a Brother or Sister or one/both of his parents... They don't have to be big/huge rolls, but something... He always talks about them, lets bring some Family into the picture...

Once Chelsea is found and she sees the family side of Tex that she hasn't had the chance to see, maybe that will seal the deal on their relationship... Make her realize that he is more than just a bourbon slinging gumshoe slob...

That's kind of just an Ending theme though, isn't it??? Unless we bring in this/these relatives earlier on and have them help somewhat throughout the story Tex...

Also for a little comical twist, maybe let Tex find out why his Brothers and Sisters gave him that Nick-Name... {reference to Pandora, look at the mechanical Zebra if you need a refresher}

Well I can't give any thoughts or ideas but I really do hope that Tex returns. But now that I think of it I would like to see Martian Memorandum be remade maybe that could in some way be tied into the events that happened in the end of Overseer.
I still feel like on a base level, the Radio Theater episodes would be enough to quench the Tex thirst that we all have on this site. Look, getting a new game completed is going to be bank rolled on the success of AC and CJ's new game idea they are trying to shop around to game companies...if they can get this other game going and make some money off of it, then they will try and buy the rights to the Tex Series...who knows how long that will take. So for now, until they can get that game up and running, The Radio Theater episodes to me is only logical step to giving all the Tex Murphy fans out there some kind of peace.

I think it all hinges on this other game that AC/CJ are working on at the moment. Should this game prove to at least have a moderate level of success, this should raise enough revenue to produce a fairly decent and well rounded Tex Murphy title. We have to support this project they're working on, even if it's not our cup of tea, we need to spread the word and promote it.
How can we promote something we {as of now} know little to nothing about???

Good question. It's called Keeping the Faith. Backing AC/CJ in any endeavor could lead to what we want most.
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
I didn't say I wouldn't back them no matter what it is... I'm saying how can I back them and promote something I don't know anything about...

If they are working on it, they at least have a name, don't they??? I'll buy it just to give them an extra sale, even if it's something that I may never install or play... lol
But it would be nice to know something about it...

Supporting Chris and Aaron in their projects? Sounds wonderful...but again a grand disparity between words and action.

Who bought it???

Stolen Life.
Who bought it??

Adrian's DVD Mind games. Sensing a trend here?

Dang....I'm not cranky, I swear. but geez, where is the love?

Baf, AC wrote As for our new game, there are several options for us to get it to market. I think by E3 we'll know if we're going to partner up with someone or do it ourselves. In the meantime, I'd love to give you all the details, but it think it's prudent to hold off until things are locked in. Believe me, I'll make an official announcement here before ANYWHERE ELSE!

Sounds good to me.
Stolen Life, I've bought it and I've downloaded it, I just haven't given myself the time to watch it...

I would have bought the DVD, but they can't assure me that the current DVD Format will work on US DVD players...

Adrian's DVD Mind Games??? I've never heard of it... Who is Adrian anyway???

Yeah I know what he wrote and in another post he said something about he "should" not "will" but "should" have details by the end of the year, but if you're still in the business then you should always have a project that you are currently working on... Waiting until the end of the hear just to hear some basic details... That's stalling if you ask me... He is stalling because he isn't working on anything apparently...

I can be cranky too... lol I just get the feeling that he is stalling more than anything else... He hasn't worked on anything but Sports since the turn of the Decade...

WOW!!! So, do you post simply to see yourself post? Do any real research 1st? Or do you just like to say crappy things?

You are doing a hell of a lot of presuming.
