New Movie : Abstract
Hey Gang!
I just finished up a draft to another 3d short I'm working on and I was wondering if you guys would like to have gander before its 'official' release? I would love to hear any comments, criticisms or ideas you might have. Remember, it's not 100% finished, so I can still include some of your suggestions in the final version.
Thanks, and Enjoy!

Hey look over there, Elvis...yo King!
Doesn't look like our happy-go-lucky monkey is an art lover.
Talk about losing yourself in a painting.
I like the music, and its a fun little clip. Some of the monkey's movements are a bit jerky, but I'm assuming that'll be smoothed out in the final version.
Awesome project!

Interesting. The music's really nice and some of the subtle movements are well done. I think with the conflict between the monkey and the artist, the gestures need to read a little better, but that might be just a personal preference on my part.
I'd love to see it all fully rendered

Couldn't have been, the Sidewalks on Chandler Ave. aren't that clean... I know they got a City Funder Clean Up, but it didn't last... lol

Ha Ha you have a great eye!adninsreaction wrote:Just one question...was that monkey strolling down Chandler Ave?
About a year ago I did a VR replica of Chandler Avenue for my 3D VR class where we could actually explore whatever we made with 3D goggles ~ it was pretty neat!
I took the buildings from that project and used them in this one as place holders, though I doubt they'll be in the final version
Atomicvegetable: Do you have any specific ideas or suggestions for making the gestures read better?
Jen: Which specific movements did you find a little jerky?
Thanks for the Comments!

I only thought that the very beginning was a little jerky, once he was walking/strutting he seems smooth enough to me...

What, my post dissapeared!?
Anyway, I said (if I can remember correctly):
Yes, I too recognise Chandler Avenue. Nice use of our favourite street.
I think that if you keep polishing the animation you will have a really top notch short. I am talking something that you can bung in your portfolio and get some really good work with!
Keep it up man, it's really good seeing your talent evolve via this forum (and I still re-play your 'Neo Access Software' title from time to time, because it rocks!!

Well i'd have to watch it again (2am... kinda almost sleepy... might have better ideas tomorrow), but i felt that both characters were gesturing over each other, and it was kind of confusing. Also perhaps the angle could be different, but that's tough cause you do want both characters firmly in the shot, along with the artwork.
Maybe more anticipation on the artist. He should move back so his hands telling the monkey to stop are a more forceful motion, and the monkey's actions should perhaps be more jeering in a "I'm gonna ruin your work and there's nothing you can do about it" sneery way.
Hope this makes sense
