Pink Floyd's Richard Wright, deceased.

I just thought I better leave a thread here in remembrance of Pink Floyd's keyboard player, Richard Wright who lost his battle to Cancer today. It's a very sad day for the British and World rock scene as he played an integral role in arguably one of the most influential and pivotal rock bands in musical history along with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Led Zepplin.

I think it's safe to say that this effectively brings the Pink Floyd story to a close. Roger Waters doesn't seem too enthusiatic about a reunion and without Wright on board, i'm not sure if it would be entirely worth it. I think what will be fitting though is a final gig which serves the dual purpose of acting as a memorial to Richard Wright and as a farewell gig for the band to achieve some closure and round everything up.

It's a scary time for me where I am actually realising where people do age and pass on. My Father recently turned 50 and that sent a shiver up my spine. When you hear of classic artists passing on, it serves as another reminder as to how valuable and short human life really is.
Wow the Pink is starting to die off, this is way Unkewl...

Oh man...

That's sad news. I've always been a big fan of Pink Floyd. May Richard Wright rest in peace.

Actually Joel, Roger Waters wants a reunion.

He had both Rick and Nick work on his new studio album.

The person who backed off on the deal was David Gilmour. He had plans for a solo project and tour that he didn't want to put off. General consensus was that the band would form up in 2009. Waters himself held off on his latest album to see if Gilmour wanted to contribute to it.

Both send each other birthday and christmas cards to the other now. All hatchets appear to have been buried.

Hard to say if the band will ever play together again now that Wright is dead.
