Jack Thompson can no longer practice law. This sentence should explain everything you need to know for people in the know.
For people who need an explanation, this is the douchebag lawyer who has been doing his one-man crusade against videogames, most famously Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series, for years, claiming they are turning teenagers and children into killers.
He's also the guy who promised he would pony up $10.000 to charity if anybody made a violent videogame where the player would kill videogame creators. Such a game was made by as a fan-project, created on the Grand Theft Auto 3 game engine. At which point, Thompson claimed it was all really satire, and did not cough up the bucks.
The boys over at Penny Arcade however, did. They sent a check for $10.000 in Jack Thompson's name to some charity organization. And all they got was sued. For slander. By Jack Thompson.
He has been... disbarred? I believe is the term, for 31 counts of... I don't know the translation, but I believe it's called professional misconduct. He can no longer practice law.

Wow. Just read up on some of his comments regarding games and - in particular - gamers. The world could do with less condescending, patronising control freaks like him. Good riddance, I say.

You can be pretty sure, however unfortunate, that he will most likely appeal... I 99.9% doubt he will get it overturned, but as with everything there is always the possibility...
