Levi Stubbs....
....was the lead singer for the Four Tops, a great 60's soul group based here in Detroit. He died the other day and while many of you may not be familiar with the Tops, we here in the motor city rocked to their music for many years.

And 2008 keeps rolling... Sadly there is still another 2 1/2 months left to this cursed year...

Y'know, I'm just worried that we'll lose Clint Eastwood soon. He's getting up there. And Sean Connery as well. The old guard is thinning
Not to mention Robert Redford!
I mean, we've already lost Paul Newman.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I'm worried about Harrison Ford myself, I'd hate to lose him... Clint is good, but he has stepped out of the actual acting scene and is doing mostly directing now... Ford is still out there doing it... Then there is Morgan Freeman, Jack Nicholson, just too many to name...
Even if we don't lose these mentioned and others around their age, the next few years are going to be quite Depressing in the Hollywood world...

Just made something called "Love Ranch"... Hasn't done anything since 2006 {which was "The Good Shepherd"}... I guess he either took some time off or has been in and out of Rehab... Wiki doesn't really have a whole lot on his life, just his Filmography really...
He is 65 years old however, so that does put him in line with the others... Be a shame to see him go, after all "He Really Is A Funny Guy"...

I have a feeling that the next great loss (not to under-value the death of anyone, I'm referring to their relevance and role in the entertainment industry) will either be Charlie Watts, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan or Neil Young. Those musicians are well into their senior years and its a miracle that they're still kicking around being passionate about what they do best. Sadly, I think the wick is thinning for them
Example:
Anyone seen a photo of Bob Dylan lately?

I saw Dylan in concert last year and I know someone who's seen him recently. He's more juvenile than he looked in '62 and his voice is better than it was a few years ago. McCartney was in Quebec City this summer and gave a near 3-hour concert. Both seem in pretty good shape, although of course you never really know. I'd still be surprised if it were for this year.
I'm a tad more worried about Leonard Cohen. He gave the concert of a lifetime this summer in Montreal, and his voice is at its best at 74, but he does look very tired, and the show seemed very much like a final goodbye to his hometown.
Closing time it's closing time!
