Naming Devices

I just got a new hard drive and in the process of formatting it, I got the chance to give it a name. I have developed a naming convention over the past few years of giving all my devices Harry Potter names. For example, my wireless network is named "Dumbledore", my TiVo is named Ron Weasley, and I the hard drive I just formatted I named "The Bludger". I don't know why I have done this, but I have a good time coming up with them.

So what I wondering if anyone else does this. Do you guys have a naming convention when you get a new device?

Just curious
I don't but it sounds like a fun idea.

Reminds me of a COBOL class I took many years ago. The instructor said to give your variabales meaningful names. What he meant was something like "TOTAL" or "PERCENT" or "LASTNAME," things like that. Well, one student gave his variables meaningful names alright: the last names of Cincinnati Reds baseball players (ROSE, MORGAN, BENCH)! What a hoot!

I name a lot of my systems after Greek Mythology and the planets.

My Wireless service is called Prometheus, and the multimedia server is called Saturn. As for local hard drives, I find that letters suffice, with a meaningful name attached.

i.e. here is my current array of HDDs:

C:\ SYSTEM
D:\ SECCONDARY
Q:\ AUDIO
S:\ SOFTWARE
V:\ VIDEO
Z:\ SATURN

Fun... I guess.

I know I have a tendency to call things a piece of crap a lot. Other than that I stick to letter and number combos.
I named my wireless modem "Mission Control"
