UAKM - I'm stuck!!!

Now I'm inside the 'now empty' Countess Mansion and I'm stuck here. The Hints screen is telling me that I must get a watch in this place, but I've searched every single corner of it and I couldn't find it anywhere. I only found an ashtray under some newspaper on the floor and the pieces of a message inside the trash can. I also got the cigarette from the bird. Please someone help me to find this watch!!!!!

Another doubt... I've assembled the pieces of the message I picked from the trash can and I actually can read the message from it, but unlike the 1st message I previously assembled earlier in the game, this one doesnt fit perfectly after joining all the pieces, and the hints panel keeps saying me that I must read the 1st phrases of the message. How do I get this step completed??

Hey Roger, these are both reasonably simple problems. The first being the watch you must find, its located on top of the fire place, you will have to raise your viewpoint to find it, I think its either shift or ctrl im not sure which.

As for the note, in all my years playing it ive never gotten to assemble it with 100% accuracy so i just left it the way it was since it does not affect the game if you complete it or not. Have fun with the rest of the game!
First off welcome to the boards... Always good to see a new fan grace the message boards...

This note from the Trash Can isn't a MUST and is the only known problem in the game... It's more for Information purposes for your own sake than anything else... I've played the game and didn't even bother collecting it one time and it did nothing... I believe you get a couple of points for just picking it up, but other than that it is unneeded...

As for the watch, like above, it is on the fireplace, you need to stand as tall as you can and look down slightly and then walk over to the fireplace, you'll see it... If you don't have it, your game will end early... That's all I'll say, you can figure out what to do with it later...

The graphics on the watch could have been a little better, but what are you gonna do with early to mid 90s technology... lol
It was well hidden though, I give them good credit for that, especially since it was something so important...

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I've played Mean Streets and Martian Memorandum a loooong time ago, but I still have these games in my collection. Now I'm playing the rest of the series in sequence and I'll try to finish them all, because Tex is the best!
