DVDExpress help
Hey guys
I have installed and patched the DVD version of Overseer and set it up to run in compatibility mode. I have also grabbed the copy of DVDExpress from Nilo's. The problem is that whenever I try to install DVDExpress, I get an error saying "Can't run 16-bit Windows program". This happens no matter what compatibility I try to run it in. I'm sure this is all something I have done because I have run Overseer on this machine before.
Any Help would be great.

there a lot versions around not the complete version. It you are new to the dvd I have a couple of hints for you & beleive me you will need them.
mute the midi in the overseer sound config control centre, otherwise it will crash at gideons gallery.
it will might also crash several times when you are trying to cross the ladder to the bosworth's lab area. save game. I change to cd version of the game until I pass this part. Some people cannot progress past with the dvd version.
I also make an iso file of the dvd & play from the hard drive & as the game runs better. You can do this with nero image drive or daemon tools. or a virtual drive program.
I personally prefer the cd version patched to a dvd disk which you can find on the board but it's only for vista.
good luck

Thanks. Game is showing video now, but no voice. It also crashes in the intro right as Tex wakes up from the dream sequence. I've created an ISO and mounted it on daemon tools, but nothing has changed (other than the lack of hum from my disc drive).
The last time I attempted this, I remember having no troubles until having to cross the bridge in the ruins. I gave up shortly after (probably distracted by another game). I am very anxious to get this working because it is the only Tex adventure I have not seen through to the end.
Oh well. Baby steps are better than none.

Glad you got it fixed...

Thanks. Been a lurker off and on for a while. Whenever something reminded me of the series, I would do a search for info on possible future projects, all leading me here.
I have given up on trying to run the Overseer dvd. The lack of voice is quite annoying. I just bought a second hand copy off Half.com for $5 to try the cd. If that doesn't work, I don't know what I will do.

Well there is plenty of action going on right now as far as future projects... Project Fedora has been mentioned... Though I'm sure they will keep plenty of that secret since it is so anticipated by so many...

of you have a vista machine there is as patch file that burns all the cd disks into one file that you can burn onto dvd. It's excellent I love playing overseer with this version, you can just relax & play the game without worrying when it's going to crash.
Gee we have some talent on this board.
