I actually watched the Eurovision Song Contest this year

...And truth be told I'd not heard the norwegian entry at the time. Or rather, I'd heard it, but I didn't know that that was our contribution.

The fun thing about us norwegians; We get the chance to speak to ONE BILLION PEOPLE... and... He asks for some people to meet him at the airport when he gets home! SO typically norwegian!

There were actually a few songs worth hearing this year, I really enjoyed the Icelandic entry, the Portugese one, and those girls from Romania, I think it was. Also, the Russian entry was excellent! And, I was surprised by the swedes this year!

If the quality of songs manages to keep up, I might actually take an interest in the years to come... Ughh, what am I saying...

Anyway - Anybody else catch this years Contest?

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Hello Fred :-)

Sorry, I did'nt. I saw, however, the news when he came back to the airport, haha...
Played it once, stuck for life.
Hey Fred

Yeah, I did catch the ESC this year, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at seeing some nordic countries in the top for a change. Otherwise it's usually the eastern countries that dominate the contest.

But I have to say that I have some other favourites than you. I thought the Russian song was absolutely dreadful, and the Swedish singer was only good at the opera-parts (she couldn't sing "normally" or how should I put it?). I did, however, like both Romania and Iceland - I actually voted for Iceland (very beautiful ballad). I also liked Azerbaijan and to some extent United Kingdom. Denmark sadly enough had a way too mainstream song and was obviously quickly forgotten, so we only came 13th.

Anyway, congratulations to Norway, Fred ... Looking forward to see what you can do next year in Oslo - perhaps in the new Telenor Arena? ;)

The different Norwegian cities have already started fighting about who gets to host next year's contest.
If you can't be good, be careful
I never watch it, and neither does my friend, but he got hooked on it this year for some reason. He was actually really impressed with the production of this year's event. Could not stop going on about the lighting and camera work. As for the actual performances, he did not have much to say.

I went to a Eurovision party, where we had snacks, booze, and watched the finals. The most entertaining* acts for me were Moldova and Greece.

*my definition of entertainment at Eurovision is either an act that seems to be having fun, or something just so horrendously bad, i love it.
