The Lost Crown: One of the best adventure games in years

I´ve just finished a game that i wanted to play for quite a long time, having very high expectations after all that i had heard. Well, now i finished The Lost Crown by Jonathan Boakes/ Darkling Room and it´s one of the most fascinating, best-written adventure games i´ve seen in many, many years.

Over 30 hours of great storytelling, spine-chilling atmosphere, fascinating locations etc.
I´m absolutely stoked and if you are looking for a really good adventure game, that´s way different than anything that was released in the last years, you should definetely try this marvelous game out.

The pace is rather slow for quite a while, but it didn´t bother me, as it enabled me to sink deeper and deeper into the Word of Cornwell and the variety of characters, historic and super-natural events. There are a few minor flaws, though having said that: The Lost Crown is mainly the work of one person and it´s very impressing to see what one person, blessed with such talent, is able to do. This game is pretty much kicking many of the big productions right in the butt in a lot of ways.
I think this review on Just Adventure absolutely does the game justice, so you might want to check it out. http://www.justadventure.com/reviews/Lo ... Crown.shtm

I have to second your endorsement of this game. I too played it just recently, and finished it about a month ago. I was very impressed with the entire story, as well as all the technical aspects of the game. Honestly, the only thing I thought was a little low was the voice acting at time (those pauses during sentences were strange at times).

I've been very impressed with Jonathan Boakes' work. I've played the Dark Fall games, as well as Scratches (which he was involved with to an extent as well). I recently got a copy of Barrow Hill, but can't get it to work on my computer.
