fabrege eggs?
Did we ever figure out what the meaning behind the fabrege (sp?) eggs was all about? I heard something on the radio about them the other day and remembered that weird thread at the end of the game... It's probably been discussed before but I'm too lazy to read all the back entries.
I recently listened to the Tex Radio scripts, which was really fun and exciting, but I think enough time had passed from when I finished the game and when I listened to them to be really confused about the story...
Can anyone give me some kind of synopsis? Or point me to where there might already be one online?
Thanks! You all are awesome.

Here a link that tells you about Faberge eggs under History reference. So maybe that’s where Aaron Connor got some of idea when he did Overseer, perhap?

I don't quite remember what happen about Faberge eggs thread. I think there was something special about the Faberge egg when TM looks at the at it and remember about Faberge Egg as in simliarly back in 2037. He was cautious I think when rule PI was "never ride with stranger" and might have remembered something in the past case. It's been a while since I've played TM: Overseer.

Heres the unofficial Overseer novelisation by Jim (I'll host it temporarily for you here: http://www.crossrealms.net/temp/Tex%20M ... erseer.pdf ) which might help to jog your memory about parts of the Overseer story... the epilogue bit with Slade is fanfiction though but the rest I think is the same as the game. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong however.
As to the eggs thing. After skimming the novelisation (been awhile since I played the game for me too) I'm thinking its some kind of premonition that he saw in some 'nightmares' he apparently was complaining to Chelsea about at some point. And the words that the shooter says at the end also prompts him to mention that it all reminds him of this nightmare. I'm guessing his dream was foretelling something and that the mystery would of been revealed in the next Tex Murphy adventure....
But I just skimmed the ending in the novelisation so I can't say for sure.

Tex says something like "This was a really bad idea." to Chelsee right after he sees the Faberge exhibition advertisement. I always thought there was some connection there. I think there was a glimpse of those eggs in the beginning nightmare of Overseer. At least there was an egg motif.

thanks for the link. that novelization is pretty cool... where did that come from? i didn't think overseer had a book version...
thanks for the help too. i guess we're not sure if the eggs actually has any meaning yet or not? just was a billboard and then it appeared later in his dream? that's cool. should make neat fan fiction.
has there been any cool new fan fiction to check out? i see that section of the awesome new unofficial tex murphy page hasn't been updated yet...
thanks everyone!

There is also this little exchange from Tex's dream in Episode 6 of Radio Theater
------------------------------------------------------------------------
European Man: A stroke of luck, eh Mr. Donnelly? What are the odds of us both being on this very train. But I wouldn’t imagine a man of your disposition believes in coincidence.
Tex Murphy: Sure I do. I also believe Martians landed in New Jersey last Halloween.
EM: And do you also believe in the – what is it called – Easter Rabbit?
TM: Easter Bunny. That one I’m not so sure about.
EM: Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret… [beat] I am the Easter Bunny.
TM: (deadpan) No kidding. I thought you’d look different.
EM: It’s true. You see, I know where you can find the most amazing Easter Egg…
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the idea here, combined with the fairly heavy hints that Tex's "dreams" are more like rememberances of a past life, is that Faberge' Eggs had something to do with Tex's past... or rather, Captain Donnelly's past... however you want to look at it
