technical advice needed- paging cubase & others
I having been trying to solve a problem for the last few months with a game. (black mirror)
during the game I get this high pitched static noise, almost knocks you off the chair when it happens.
I have am playing it under xp but win 7 & vista seems to have the same result. Tried it on a couple of machines with the same result. sometimes pressing the esc key skips over the area & stops the game crashing to the desktop if you are quick but not always.
I have found if I change the config file sound from "1" to "0" in parts of the game it passes the error.
I have a gigabyte board with realtek hd audio.
any suggestions

Yes & I was starting to think it was the download file but muting the sound in the game convinced me that's not the case. I have seen a few posts from others with the same thing.
I wonder if it's the midi, had a good listen to when it happens and it's when the music is playing & sometimes when people are speaking.

i found two on the adventure gamers forum & 2 others on game boomers. All downloaded the game from the adventure shop 2010. I thought maybe it was the graphic card since the problem surfaced this year but changing the driver had no effect.
this file was patched to run on the hard disk, people with the cd seem to having no problems, however it doesn't run on anything higher than xp.
If it's the file why does it not crash when the sound is muted.
I wonder if it will work with a separate sound card.
