I see that gog.com now has the Tex games available. This is great news!
I've been holding on to an old classic Pentium PC since 1994 (since UAKM) so I can play the classic 3. UAKM, Pandora & Overseer. I know in the past, those games wouldn't work on new PC's. One of many reasons being the hard disc issue of fat32 or NTSC** (I'm sort of para-phrasing here b/c I don't recall exactly). Other issues being RAM or audio cards/drivers etc...
So long/short, I held on to the Pentium b/c it plays all the games. Even have an old floppy boot disc for UAKM and the original demo of Pandora. And I revisit them every couple of years.
Has gog.com gotten around the usual problems? Is it running on an emulator and by doing so, brand new machines can play these games without any hiccups? Can any one out there relate their experience to me regarding any of these Tex games running on gog.com? Is it finally time to say goodbye to the old Pentium PC?

Yes it's true. The new bundle of Dosbox+Tex games work on the new computers. Plus you get the additional advantage of not having to deal with disc swapping anymore. The new executable you download has everything all together.
I know how you feel. I clung onto my Pentium computer with the Sound Blaster 16 audio card for the longest time because of Tex. I finally took it to be recycled a couple of years ago.

I've only tried out UKAM and Pandora. I think some of the others have tried out Overseer and it worked for them.
If you are penny-pincher you can wait till GOG puts those games on sale. However at a regular price of $10 each, they aren't that bad. Of course, proceeds do go AC and CJ after GOG gets their cut.
