99 Years, RIP Mitch Miller...

Mitch Miller died at 99... I don't know how many of you might know who he is, but he was a great musician in the world of old...

World Of Old?!?!?! I resemble that remark!

I was a kid when Mitch was popular. I remember the TV show featuring the sing-along lyrics with the bouncing ball. And my mom had the Mitch Miller Christmas Album, complete with lyric sheets. I still have the album.

Hmmm. . .eBay calls?
Never too late for coffee, never too early for beer.
I figured you and Jim would be the likely ones to know of him...
I remember my father playing some of his stuff...

Oh, thank you, Baf, for reminding Gary and I of our age. j/k

Yeah, remember Mitch big time. He was extremely popular and his sing-a-longs were pure family fun. Nowadays my favorite sing-a-long is The Revolution Will Not Be Televised by the Soul Rebels. Hmm. Times have changed.

Jim, you and Gary are like those fine bottles of wine that you keep on display... ;}

He didn't do the original soundtrack, but he did have hit recordings of the two marches, especially the Colonel Bogey March (the famous one with the whistling).

And, that was one of those tunes that just playing over and over in your mind while slowing driving you crazy. Along the same lines was the theme music to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Both movies, BTW, were great.
