New LA Noire Footage and Release Date

Well when I saw this I had to come onto the board to let everyone know about it. Here's the latest trailer for LA Noire and it also has a sort of release date of "Spring 2011." Looks like they are employing some sort of new facial animation. Definitely looks interesting you should take a look:

I am so very much looking forward to this.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I cannot wait for this game... This game is going to be off the hook... At least I certainly hope so...

Holy Hell, that looks sooo good... It looks even better than when Joel first started posting about it... I highly recommend the HD trailer if you're computer is capable of it...

I think I just might take a week vacation when this game comes out... Maybe 2 weeks... :D

lol it would want to, it's been in development long enough :P
I remember Cub mentioning this game way back when around the same time I found out about it. We were posting about it years ago, I believe. What was it? 2006? -ish?

A long time indeed, though.

They are actually using camera's and real actors for their faces in the game, that's why they look so good, it's also pretty interesting how they used real aerial diagrams and pictures of the area at the time, so it's supposed to be as close to L.A. back then as possible (L.A. Noire is supposedly the biggest open world to date) . They also said they are using actual cases from back then, but changing the scenarios and names of people slightly. You should read the GameInformer cover story on this game, This and Portal 2 are going to be the first games I buy at release for full-price. can't wait.
Yea this looks amazing.

Reminds of L A Confidential.

That's just what I was thinking. I didn't hear anything about the game for a while so I figured they stopped working on it. Glad they didn't, looks awesome!

Looks MIGHTY impressive. My poor PS3 hasn't been anything but a Netflix streamer for a long time. Would love to fire this up!

I wonder what the budget was? Director and voice actor aside, which I assume they paid big bucks for.

Have you tried Heavy Rain?

They are saying L.A. Noire may be one of the biggest budget games being developed anywhere in the world, which I think is an odd phrase. They seem to be having trouble with the Xbox 360 version of the game due to memory limitations on disc, but considering the price of making this title I'd say they will work around it, in order to keep the possible sales numbers up.
Game Informer article... This game just keeps looking better and better...

They just showed this yesterday for those of you who don't know, it's about "The Technology Behind Performance."
I CANNOT WAIT... And yes Fred, I remember going ga-ga over this game as far back as 4 years ago! The facial animation is superb! The technique is similar to that which way employed in MYST V End of Ages, only much, much better, but combining real actors & their faces using cameras and combining them with the 3D models. I don't think I have ever seen this done more accurately in gaming before, which is why I was so impressed by this trailer. The characters truly have the potential to come alive.

As for everything else... let's just say I am so glad I have my PS3!

-Cub. =o)
Cub, on this particular subject, you and me are on the same page.

And here I sit without a game platform. Looks like they're not releasing a PC version.

S#!t.
