Two more bite the dust

1. Sparky Anderson - manager of baseball's Cincinatti Reds and Detroit Tigers. Heralded as one of the best and most certainly one of the nicest people in all of sportsdom.

2. Jill Claybaugh - actress from the old days (60's - 80's mostly). A beautiful woman and talented actress who lost a 21 year battle with lukemia.

Shame, I knew of Claybaugh... She did lots of TV, but had a fair amount of movies as well...

Thanks for remembering Sparky, Jim. I live in the Cincinnati area and I'm a Reds fan. I remember the days of the Big Red Machine. He was a great manager and a great human being. He will be missed.
Never too late for coffee, never too early for beer.
Did he not play for the tigers at one point?

Maybe I am mistaken.

Sparky managed the Tigers but did not play for them. He became the first manager to win the World Series in both leagues.

Ok, this is going back a while.

I looked him up and now I remember him.

I got him mixed up with Cecil Fielder. Probably cause they have really different names.

I was only 9 years old when I saw the tigers play.... back when they were actually a good team =)
