well the birds dided of fright from the fireworks, the fish were just one type of fish.

when we see masses of frogs then we should start to worry.
don't get these religious nuts going, they are already predicting the end of the world is on it's way.

It isn't proven that it was Fireworks that killed the birds, that was just early speculation... There were a great many found in rural areas where they didn't even have large firework shows... Not to mention they are being found days after New Years when there weren't dead birds there before...

As for the Fish, yeah it was just the one kind, from what I've heard... But still gotta start somewhere don't ya... lol

interesting, I haven't seen anything more on the birds since I read the first article.
seemed to me a bit far fetched for the fireworks.

This is what I read in an article at MSNBC today.

However, biologists say these mass die-offs happen all the time and usually are unrelated.

Federal records show they happen on average every other day somewhere in North America.
Video: Arkansas’ animal deaths: Coincidence or conspiracy? (on this page)

In the past eight months, the U.S. Geological Survey's National Wildlife Health Center has logged 95 mass wildlife die-offs in North America and that's probably a dramatic undercount, officials say.

The list includes:

* 900 some turkey vultures that seemed to drown and starve in the Florida Keys.
* 4,300 ducks killed by parasites in Minnesota.
* 1,500 salamanders done in by a virus in Idaho.
* 2,000 bats that died of rabies in Texas.
* And the still mysterious death of 2,750 sea birds in California.

Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.
With the dams now running at 2x capacity I'm concerned that eventually the full effects of the flood will be felt, what we've seen is only half of what Brisbane could have been faced with. Just hope it doesn't rain in the next few days.
It looks as though it's going to get a little worse sadly with the increasing rainfall and continual spread into Northern NSW. I'm actually doing my bit though: starting tomorrow, i'll be doing some volunteer hours for the Red Cross in their contact centre doing data entry. I think I'll be taking calls off the victims who will be calling to report missing people, property and damaged houses.

We could run a poll on it, but personally I think this 2012 stuff is just crap.

I didn't mention anything about 2012...

But if you want to talk about 2012 my thoughts aren't towards the End of the World, I don't believe that is what the Mayans were signifying with their calendar...
Everywhere in history you can read about this or that coming down from the heavens, meaning coming out of the sky... I'm a believer in the Ancient Alien theories... These people in ancient times weren't writing fiction stories or just making sci-fi coloring books on their cave walls and tablets... They were writing and drawing events as they had seen them unfold...

As for the Mayans, history states that they just completely abandoned many of their cities, no trace whatsoever, just up and vanished... Some believe that their calendar signifies when their Gods {aka Ancient Aliens} will return...

I don't believe this last part, but like I said, I do believe in the Ancient Alien theory...

As for what others believe the Calendar to mean, it also signifies the end of a cycle that the Mayans tracked over their years... It's no coincidence that their Calendar ends on the precise date that the Winter Solstice and the Alignment of the Earth, Sun, and Center of the Galaxy takes place... Something that only happens every 26,000 years... And the Mayans knew this and they recorded it...
But that is all the Calendar signifies, the ending of a Cycle, not the end of the world...

What really happen to the Mayans is anyone's guess... Was it Aliens??? Was it the Conquistadors??? No one knows, because no one can find anything substantial to support any reasonable theory... All we know is that small cities are still being found today untouched by humans in all this time and what they find makes it look like the city could have been occupied a week ago {minus the overgrowth of vegetation}... They find food stores partially filled, they find traces of food in dishes, they find stone work like statues half finished...

So it is up to the individual to draw their own conclusions until more solid evidence is found...

My religious comments were just meant to kind of poke fun at the whole 7 seals and 7 signs or whatever they call the coming of the end...

Personally I just assumed those who proclaimed 2012 was the world's end were fans of Director Roland Emmerich :P
