Anybody ever play this?

Just wondering.

It's game called Noir: A Shadowy Thriller.

I remember anxiously waiting for this game a decade or so ago and never finding out if it had come out or not. Well, I guess it did.

Anybody?
I just gone done playing it. It gives you all your travel locations in advance and has automated inventory but it was still pretty fun. I would recommend playing on it hard though and not calling the informant for hints or it would be a walk in the park.

This game was released in 1996 for Windows 3.X... A bit more than a Decade...
You've been hanging around Jim too long... j/k

Sounds interesting enough, I don't recall having heard of it... Is it available on GOG or anywhere else for Download???

Its seems like too rare of a gem to be on GOG. I'd say getting it off a site like Amazon would be your best bet.
Yeah but it was released for Windows 3.X, which means it is going to be on Floppy Disk, I don't have Floppy Drives anymore...

Or is it one of the rare ones from the mid 90s that came on a CD???

It comes with 2 cds. I could run it in Windows XP mode, but I had to configure the .exe to run in 256 color mode before launching. Also there's one file you'll need to download off the internet and place in the game directory to make it work. I believe it's called SMACKW32.DLL.
Doesn't sound like Windows 7 will like it at all... Gonna have to wait until I put my Retro Computer together...

Thanks for the Info though...

Well, I got it running in XP.

Haven't really had a chance to play it, but the production value is wonderful so far.

Great musical score too.

Problem is I have to adjust my native resolution down to 800x600 as to even get it to fill half my screen.

It seems like it would be the kind of game that would go over pretty well with those who like anything Noir.
Wow, Windows 3.x... That's even older than the Satuffway!
