Chronicles of Narnia - the movie

Well, I saw the movie last weekend and felt you should know how I feel about it.

Terrific! Sublime! Entertaining! etc.

This is simply a very delightful, well acted, captivating Hollywoodization of the C.S. Lewis classic. I highly recommend it to all who enjoy that particular genre. And it's not for children only! Many adults without children were present and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I hope there are more sequels.

Jim, this is excellent news! I loved the books when I read them many years ago, but I feared going to see the movie and being disappointed. I view your opinion as one that is highly trustable; so, I will take heed and see the movie at my earliest possible convience.

Agreed, JTOG. Saw the flick a few days ago, and was surprised at how much I remembered, since I've only read the book once many years ago. Like you said, they did a great job, and I, too, hope they make the sequels!
I have not read the books myself, but I went with a friend who is a big fan of the Narnia series and has read all of them multiple times.

His reaction, when the movie was over, was that this movie was more faithful to the book than any movie he had ever seen that was based upon a book.

Very high praise.
Not to change the subject, but have any of you guys seen King Kong yet? I thought it was quite fabulous. The period setting was amazing, the story was faithful to the original and Naomi Watts was just incredible.

My only complaint was that they overdid the special effects in a few places. Dinosaurs and insects. You'll see.
I definitely want to see it... I might do so when it comes out.

In the meantime, look out for my King Kong review! 8)

Well I finaly got around to seeing it about a week ago... I was quite impressed... but then again I was not. Kind of half/half really.

I liked it becuase it was entertaining and very visually stimulating... even though I think it got a bit rushed towards the end.

I think the most important thing to me is how close it followed the book.

I thought the BBC TV series did a very good job on the Narnia series and still remember the story from it. So I thought I would be bored since I already knew almost everything that was going to happen. But I found it very entertaining anyway. The beavers were fun and the guy who played Mister Tumnus, did a fantastic job.
