I've been playing the Broken Sword games since the 90s. It shouldn't take a psychiatrist to demonstrate just how obsessed I am since I own the following:
- Broken Sword 1 (PC CD-ROM)
- Broken Sword 2 (PC CD-ROM)
- Broken Sword 2.5 (fan made, digital only distribution - FREE)
- Broken Sword 3 (PC CD-ROM)
- Broken Sword 1 Director's Cut (PC via STEAM)
- Broken Sword 2 Remastered (iPod Touch)
- Broken Sword 1 Director's Cut (Nintendo DS)
- Broken Sword 3 (Playstation 2)
Yes, I am one broken man
==============UPDATE - 5 MINS LATER===================
Scratch that, just purchased the triple pack promo off GOG - too good to refuse with all of the goodies such as the soundtracks. Plus, it means I no longer have to go via STEAM which is awesome

Broken Sword 4 is kind of the black sheep of the series and potentially a catalyst for Broken Sword 5 being a return to their roots, that is, doing a point and click adventure. While not confirmed, Charles Cecil has hinted that this is where they want to take the fifth game. Broken Sword 4 is available in stores but only as those re-release type packages (you know, the corporate packaging with only an image of the front cover on the box). I've got a copy at home, still haven't got around to playing it.
I prefer both 2d and 3d. Well I should say I like 3d when it's live actors. Black Dahlia wasn't total 3d and was still a great game. 2d will always have nostalgia and I think every now and then 2d games should come out, but I think things should go to 3d without taking point and click away with the exception of movement.
I've only ever played Broken Sword 2, but it was indeed excellent
I gots a webcomic! http://yetanothercomic.com
I remeber playing the two first ones when they came out but the third took me some time to buy, cant say i really liked it, it was to weird, the fourth one on the other hand brought hope for me. But speaking of reamasterd games, have you played the new and improoved vertion of beneth a steel sky bought it her for my ipad and damn was it fun to play again.
For the Broken Sword fans: One of my colleagues from Adventure-Treff was at the recent Quo Vadis expo in Berlin and did interviews with adventure game related people. Charles Cecil was there too and agreed to do a video interview. Personally, I think that the result is very, very interesting and if you like Broken Sword this should be fun to watch.

That's a great interview. What an intelligent man Mr Cecil is!
