Breaking Bad Season 4 Finale *SPOILERS*

Wow!!!

So Season 4 is over and man what a season.

I thought as the season moved along, that I was going to be disappointed, but it all was just build up to an incredible finale!!!

I was like WTF when Gus walked out, supposedly alive.... Initially, I said, "THEY CAN'T DO THAT!!!! THAT IS RETARDED!!!" Then the camera panned around and I saw half his face blown off and a huge hole in his head...... then my jaw dropped. The shock was equivalent to Walt killing those drug dealers with his car.

I did kind of figure out 10 mins in how they were going to kill Gus, but even with the predictability, the presentation made it not matter. Hector ringing his bell incessantly and boom!! I thought for a second it wasn't going to work either.

It also seems like the writers are really trying to get you to hate Walt.... did he poison Brock? They sure made it seem like he did. I just can't see him doing that though... At least I hope not.

So I think Season 5 will be the deterioration of Walt and Jesse's relationship.... and Walt truly Breaking Bad beyond the point of no return. I think there will be a showdown between Hank, Walt and Jesse. Not sure who is going to kill Walt in the end..... and no idea if he will redeem himself either. I guess we will have to see.

Great season 4!!. Any comments?
Matt
Face Off indeed.

That scene is one in a handful of scenes I've seen in films and television shows over the years that actually jarred me slightly. I'm fairly unbudgeable in that department, it takes a helluva lot to shock me.

That simple camera angle change though? Walt hitting those drug dealers with his car doesn't even come close. Jesse shooting Gail in the face doesn't come close.

Harvey Dent has nothing on Gus Fring.

Masterful. That scene made me feel something. And that's rare for me.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Maybe Two face (Gus) will rise from the dead to haunt Walt? No but seriously This episode was SICK!! My heart was racing the whole episode. There have only been 2 shows that have ever done that in my entire life; 1-Prison Break (the first few seasons anyways) and 2-Breaking Bad. There will definitely be some kind of development regarding which direction the relationship between Walt and Jesse in the 5th season. Hank will probably end up busting Jesse and Walt or getting killed in the process.

P.S. Did anyone else think it was a wee bit sadistic when Walt called his next door neighbor to walk into his very possibly booby trapped house for him?
The buildup from episode 11 to this finale is beyond describing. What a fantastic... everything! The writing, the acting, the story, everything there is raising the bar so high... I'm speechless.
"Wer ein holdes Weib errungen..."

"My religion is the one in which Haydn is pope" - by me.

"Set a course, take it slow, make it happen."
My thoughts exactly.

The whole season before that was just setting up the framework for a masterful ending.

I loved the little details, pan to Gus, face blown half off, eye missing. Functioning eye (at the moment) moves, matching little squiggle in the empty socket of the other.

If anything this show demonstrates is the high cost of "pride". It has smacked every character that became consumed with it. And I tell you, I keep loving Saul a little more every season. If he says "it's a bad idea" you bet your bippy it is.

Curious to see what reshuffling occurs in this final season. And what Jesse may learn about Walt's misdeeds.

:D
Oh, and I just thought of something. Whatever happened to Badger and Skinny Pete? Jen, you could probably answer that one for me...

They only appeared in one or two episodes this year, as Jesse descended into depression and guilt over murdering Gale. I miss them big time, they were a welcome infusion of humor in a bleak season. They just left his house to go home after the constant partying, I hope they'll be back.

But... has Jesse moved on? Will he reconcile with his girlfriend and her young son? Will Mike be back and they renew their bizarre friendship? Or will he fall backwards into the partying lifestyle? My guess is that he's "grown up" a bit. Time will tell.
Either Mike will start working for Walt..... or he will want to hunt him down.

Maybe him and Jesse will team up.

BTW, I read somewhere else something someone had noticed in the last few episodes.

Walt has started coughing quite a lot again.

I think his cancer will be back in Season 5.

I miss those two also.
Matt
I think the cancer is already back, and Walt knows it. One of the episodes this season, when he went to go get checked, and he went on this long story about living life till the end to one of the fellow patients, and when Skylar asked him about his results, he was kind of distracted when he replied.

No Exit strategy.
