Urgent help required considering interview with Adrian Carr

I'm done with translating a brandnew interview with Adrian Carr. The interview is quite long so I dediced to split it up in two halfs. Both parts will be published very soon. As usual, the original English version will be available for you.

However, I have a little translation problem. Adrian used the following quote by Kevin McCarthy: "Pods! Pods! I hate pods!"

I can't remember which scene that was and - keeping in mind that I'm not a native speaker - I don't know the word "pods". I looked it up in a dictionary, but the word can have so many different meanings in German that I have no idea what it means.

I would be very glad if someone could explain the meaning of the word "pods" to me so I can publish the first part of the article. You will be rewarded with a GREAT interview! ;)

Haha Adrian is a funny guy. Kevin McCarthy was in Invasion of the Body Snatchers the creepy film about aliens who replace people, when the clone of the person was done "developing" they would hatch from a pod. Sort of like a cocoon insects or caterpillars make before hatching into a butterfly. Also plants can have seed pods (e.g. peas). I don't know if Kevin's character in the film actually said that line (a Google search didnt turn up anything). I'm going to guess Adrian is making a pun as to what he thinks the character from the film probably feels about pods.

But I didn't watch the original 1956 version with Kevin McCarthy only the 1978 remake with Donald Sutherland, sure did creep me out as a kid... classic though.

The Body Snatcher thing was also mentioned in the other Adventure Treff interview by Chris Jones:

Yeah, Adrian said that that scene was a reference to Invasion of the Body Snatchers in the previous sentence. And still I had no idea what he meant with pods - even if I have seen that film. But now I feel smarter. Thank you! :)
You're welcome, happy to help! So does the German translation of the film call them something else than "pod".
I forgot they even get a nickname "Pod People" so curious how it was translated.
