Hmm I've just found out you can't use Amazon Gift Cards on Kickstarter, odd huh? From the amount of people suggesting it and the obvious connection to Amazon it seemed s surefire thing... I have sent a message on Kickstarter to remove it from the payment guide. I hope it hasn't / doesn't inconvenience anyone who bought a gift card to use, can those be refunded back to cash if they did?

Really?!? Well that sucks. Let me go read those articles. If you have a gift card it usually applies that first, and then you payment.

Yeah I mean its AMAZON gift card and Kickstarter payments are powered by AMAZON, it would seem to make sense except... nope! Don't they want people to buy more of their gift cards or something?

Let me know what they say. I felt it best to send the Kickstarter team a message ASAP though to remove it anyway just incase, considering the people in those threads got a big fat no from Amazon.

Nicole at Amazon in the Kickstarter payment department said they only accept credit cards, and you can't apply Amazon gift cards to the payment.
I did also email Kickstarter. Awaiting a 2nd verification from them.

Dang. Doesn't make a lot of sense, considering they're both by the same company, but it is what it is I guess. Just like how PayPal has a crowdfunding site that accepts payments for stuff that isn't made yet but PayPal site itself closes accounts for collecting money for stuff that isn't made yet. Just policy differences and non-transferable systems I guess

Well I know from the DoubleFine Kickstarter prepaid cards are also accepted as Tim Schafer got that answer from Amazon (so long as you add a extra $1).

Just a shame since Amazon Gift Cards seemed like a nice no-fee option. Plus a easy way for Germans and others who don't commonly use credit cards to use the popular PaySafeCard service (since they offer Amazon Gift Cards).
