Thanks for the warm welcome Jim. Hopefully I will not become an endangered species myself, although my wife might have a say in that!
Some might say that Tex Murphy fans in general are an endangered species. But we stick together in a herd so we'll be safe ;)

Endangered, but still managing to grow in numbers! I think anyone who has played the games has a fondness for them. I think if a new project came to fruition, it would easily accepted and a serious rekindling of numbers would follow.

Not just a dream?

Just Private Message James LeMosy whenever you see a spammer as he is the only one who can do anything and they're not even worth a reply  (Also means that if their spammy posts are deleted, all replies to the spammy post have to be deleted too). However I have already PM'ed him regarding these two.

I already have done, Sai. I got no response.

Are the forums security settings lax, or something? There's been quite a few of these annnoying bots posting recently.

He probably just hasn't checked back on the forum yet. He responded last time I reported one, no doubt in my mind he'll be on it as soon as he gets time to log on. :D Maybe there needs to be a Moderator to have an extra pair of eyes to help with pruning such stuff though?

Some forums have an extra step to registration whereby you have to input code from an image that makes it tough for bots to go through the process. Not sure if this script has such a function though. Its otherwise tough to stop such things slipping through I imagine. :?

I bet the reason its happening more now than before is because once one gets through it probably logs the site in its records and returns for another shot later using different IPs etc. Avoiding any IP blocks done previously on it. Tricky little things.
