Question regarding posting music to the downloads
You could email BFG and ask for permission. I do not believe it was released through a record company so CJ & AC should hold the rights to the music.
If you do could you provide it as flac rather than mp3?

Politics is like a corral. No matter where you are you will always be shoveling it.
It probably depends on ownership and who owns the rights to the music. Richie Havens and Matt Heider may hold the rights or it could be AC and CJ depending on what was agreed.
I've never seen anyone mind sharing things here, especially if it increases awareness of Tex/Matt/Richie's work etc, but always best to ask to be safe.

Yes... hence why the database I have of the Tex Murphy OSTs neglects to include the tracks from the Overseer soundtrack CD, but it does everything else, including unreleased pieces from the game. Only because Matt Heider gave me permission to host them.dcat151 wrote:The technical (although, not popular) answer is that without the copyright holder's permission it is copyright infringement to copy, distribute, publish, etc. the music.

If you would do that, the damage would already be done in case it's not allowed.joliet_jane wrote:I say, upload them and let a mod sort it out. Users aren't lawyers and shouldn't be expected to be, and users are not running the site.
In my opinion a big no.
Beside all that, even with permission I still wouldn't do it. Cause it would undermine the tex memorabilia drawing
The Overseer soundtrack is part of that.
