Joining the fedora club!
Thanks for the link Rockefeller. Unfortunately I didn't see quite what I was looking for there either...
I ended up torn between this one http://www.thefedorastore.com/Bailey-Br ... =Honey/Tan and this one http://www.amazon.com/Bailey-Fairbanks- ... 90&sr=1-84
While I preferred the color of the one at The Fedora Store, I preferred the style at Amazon more. I just don't like the teardrop style of indent it seems. I went with the Moss Mix color after some confusion about the color's name. I mean, Moss is green... but looking at the hat elsewhere, it seems despite the name that really is the color of that hat. Weird. NO hat seems to have that exact grayish brown color that Tex's hat came out looking in the video, so I just went with what I liked.
So, It looks like I'm soon to be a member of the Fedora club. Thanks Rock and especially Mac for suggestions/tips.

Yes, mine looks a lot like the Baileys briar. I bought it years and years ago, and it was called the Bailey's travelers hat. The write up was very similar as a packable hat made of the litefelt. Oh and you can shape that teardrop into more of a crease, mine rarely has the teardrop back contour. And you are so right as the Tex hat being a bitch to match in color. I had hoped one day to see it close up in real life and get a good idea of how mine fared.LockeCole wrote:Thanks for the link Rockefeller. Lesigh.
I bought mine at the Fedora store as well.
Enjoy it, and you know, post a pic maybe.
I posted that very question over on the BFG forums, but no one has responded. I would really like to get one exactly like the one shown on top of the robot on KickStarter. I like everything about that one. If anyone has any info, please post it.Demonlawyer wrote:Lockecole - they did once tell us during an interview what the hat make and model was - I bet a little research would find that info for you.
The original fedora, the one Tex wears in UAKM, PD and Overseer, is made by a company that no longer exists, if I remember correctly. We brought it up in a chat LONG time ago. I can't remember the name of the company. I seem to remember them saying they bought it at a fishing/ outdoor supply shop long ago. (Could be wrong, but it's what I'm remembering.)
So...as far as the new one. It SEEMS to either be the

That is the one I ended up getting, I went for the Moss Mix color. I chose it looking for a brownish-grey color, and obviously removed the feather. I was hoping it was closer to the way the old hat looked. It's not quite right, but as you can see in the picture I really like it.
