So here's how it works:
Over 6 weeks there will be 3 rounds of captioning, where you will be given an image from either: Under a Killing Moon, The Pandora Directive or Overseer, and you have to make up the wittiest caption to go with that image.
For each round there will be 1 week of captioning followed by one week of voting. Our generous benefactor and I will judge the top 5 entries for each round and place them in a poll where you will get to vote for that round's winner. At the end of all 3 rounds the person with the most total votes wins!
There is only one rule for captioning in this competition:
Only one entry per member.
There are a few more rules when it comes to voting, but we will announce those when the first round's voting commences.
At any rate, we will leave a few days for everyone to practise their captioning skills and massage their funny bones, and will we kick off then.
Don’t forget to have fun!
Cheers,
-Cub. =o)
Kool ill be waiting fot this one.

Hey Cub,
Last time around we had a lot of fun with the caption contest and I feel that only one entry is a shame since some of the the members out there were really funny... and this is all about having fun right?
(Ha. Ha. Who am I kidding? We compete to win!
)
If the rules are not set in stone yet, I would suggest you allow multiple captions by members, however they must only pick one of their captions to submit for contest purposes by the end of the week. This will allow for their creative and humorous captions to keep rolling in all week for the enjoyment of us all.
What do you think?

Well we could always do the 1 caption an image thing just for the contest and if people enjoy it. Then make it a regular thing separately after it ends (to avoid confusion). It would add some activity to the board to have a thread every now and again with a random image from one of the games for people to caption. I knew somewhere that did a caption thread weekly.
(Ruri_Ayanami from the old Tex Murphy ezboard).

Right! Let's go with it... how about we start two threads per round. One thread will be like a 'funny' thread where everyone can post as many as they want, and even practise their skills on the side. Once a user likes a particular ONE quote the think works for them then they can place it in the official caption thread.Givati96 wrote:Hey Cub,

How does that sound?

sounds like a great idea. I think everyone should be allowed one official one, but the more quotes the merrier.
I wonder though whether we should/shouldn't comment on people's quotes until AFTER a deicison has been taken, otherwise we'll put quotes up and people will say they love/hate them etc and it could descend into something if people think certain quotes just weren't right.
Or am I being a little pessimistic here?

DL - always thinking like a lawyer.
But I agree that is probably the best way to go.
Go for it Cub.
List 1: Official Caption Competition Entries - one per member (first post should be considered, if more then one is entered).
List 2: Captions for fun, no responses regarding rating of caption until List 1 is sealed for polling.
Sound right?
Correct me if I am wrong...
