Taking Down The Videos
You could put them on Youtube as a playthrough with info in the descriptions about the PayPal donation drive still going etc. I think Twitch offers a Youtube export feature (by going to the archived video page, clicking on the cog wheel under it and then "Upload"). The speedruns could be good for Youtube or snippets of stuff not already on Youtube from the long playthroughs. I doubt anyone will complain about spoilers. If I don't want to be spoiled, I just don't watch.

It's not about complaints from other people. As a gamer there were times I cheated and later wished I hadn't. So I'm trying to protect people from that, because doing that makes an adventure game have more value, which makes the industry have more value. So I'll word it this way. Will anyone be upset if I delete the videos? If so I can work on getting them on a hard drive somewhere.
With sites like GameFAQs people can always 'cheat' if they want. Even this website links to Walkthroughs for each of the games. Tex games have always been very lenient about that kind of thing, with the extensive hints system and puzzle auto-solve stuff, it detracts points, but different people play games for different reasons so not all are too bothered about the points.
I get as far as I can in games but sometimes I have a choice between looking up a solution or putting the game to one side whereupon life will probably take over and I'll forget the story where I left off and have to start over, in some cases I may never see the end due to that occuring and so I use a walkthrough. I'm also not a big puzzle fan so for tough puzzles I'll use a walkthrough. In both cases it helps me to continue to enjoy the game, and I've always loved that the Tex Murphy series lets people do that within the game itself so you don't have to break from the game.
If anything I think seeing the games on Youtube attracts more of an audience for the industry. Most game studios are pretty OK with game broadcasters and Youtube playthroughs, since viewing the game is only part of the experience, some even donate free games to those who get a lot of views so they can play and commentate.

There's been a few games I've discovered and bought due to watching people play.
But to answer the question: I won't be upset. it's your content after all and you have every right to do whatever you wish with it.

Jim the Old Guy is a walking, talking walkthrough-talkthrough of the Tex Murphy games.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I know, Mac. That was sorta the entire punchline. Jim's born in '46. One year before my dad, in fact. Four years before my mom. So I actually don't see Jim as all that old, but, he seems to enjoy the over-the-top jokes us whippersnappers throw out there.
'Course, he knows we're all getting older with time. I just turned 30. I'm no spring chicken, any more, neither.
He was also born with a fantastic sense of humor, and thank god for that, or he'd be laying the smack down on ME!
My favorite JTOG story was the one he told about eating a Dagwood, forgetting about it, blaming someone else, and not realizing he'd eaten it until he got... gassy. That is some pure everyday comedy gold!
I wish he'd have the time to start posting around here more regularly again. I miss his wit. And stories. And maybe he could get me a deal on geritol!

No way, man. As far as you know, some people want to see these videos to re-live games they played in the past. People are free to watch what they want.Bjyman wrote:Things have been spoiler free so far so I'm stopping by occasionally. Good job!
To get to the point as a rule I don't believe in spoiling games so I'm thinking about taking down my streams on TwitchTV. If anyone wants to save the content I'll give you about two weeks to make arrangements.
