I was just browsing Kickstarter today and stumbled into this:

Considering that it's a Kickstarter project, the production and cast is pretty impressive. The trailer definitely promises to keep to the conventions that made old noir films so great. I might get on board for this one.

I saw that too - Danny Devito and others - it looks really good - I wondered why it wasn't already going into cinemas to bring in revenue and whether backing it was effectively buying people's seat tickets?

I would love to see it succeed though - looks great.

It's an anomaly of sorts that it hasn't got any distribution recognition. If there's room for films like Sin City (that's not a put down by the way) then surely this fits somewhere into that echelon of film? Plus, since when has De Vito been part of indie projects? It's so weird. Carla Gugino alone should be sufficient to get people in the cinema.
