EVIL DEAD REMAKE!!!!

My god, this looks disturbing.

Sam Raimi is involved with it too.

This looks crazy!!

Not as comedic as the original, that's for sure

Oh I dunno, the original wasn't exactly comedic, either. At least not in any way that really worked as comedy. I will see this movie just for comparison sake.

To me, if it doesn't have Bruce, It's not Evil Dead.
I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
Malloy and I are of one mind one this. A Mind-alloy. Or Malloy, if you will.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Yea, the first one wasn't really comedic....
I must have been getting evil dead 1 and 2 mixed up.

I know evil dead 2 and army of darkness were more humorous.... well.... very dark humor.

And to be honest... i don't think Ash's character should have been in it.

Could you imagine the backlash of someone else playing Ash??

Also, Bruce was asked for a cameo, but declined.

Let's not call it Evil dead for a minute.

As a stand alone horror film.... you have to admit, that this looks pretty good.
It certainly seems to blow most horror films out of the water since the release of the original Saw or Drag Me To Hell.

Sinister seemed pretty good too, but I haven't seen it.

As a stand alone film, without the evil dead moniker, what do you all think.
Matt
Bruce Campbell is ASH!!!! I think EVIL DEAD remake is for folks who grew up in 1990s-currently and never seen 1980s films. I feel old already. lol
I agree with lestat666, this is NO evil dead, but as a standalone movie it could be watchable. BTW, I really hate the way directors and cinematographers chose the look of their horror movies in the last few years. It seems a consolidated trend to use those greenish hi-contrast lo-saturation shots. I find those kind of shots visually unappealing.
I don't mind those shots. The Ring did it really well, although I know what you mean. Not all movies do it as well as that one did, although that was more of a blueish green.

What would you prefer instead?

I am curious.
