AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGH!!!! Was hoping to see the second one this summer and the finale at the end of this year, Dec 2013. Now have to wait an entire year after that! They must have filmed nearly all of it at once, who cares if it is not a holiday release; its not about the holidays at all anyway!
Probably just scared of "summer blockbuster" competition...always all about the $$$s.
They will get rich off it either way, just show it ALL now, lol.
I was pissed too.

I don't even go see the films before the holidays, just because the theater would be crazy.
I saw the first one in January.

I guess in a way you could look at the good side of this. They thought the second one was good enough that a wait in between The Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again was worth the extension. That means we wont have another "filler" movie kinda like An Unexpected Journey. (Not that I didnt enjoy An Unexpected Journey or anything)
Ill bide my time this October playing the new Assassins Creed game Black Flag. Should be pretty bad ass. Still the news is very upsetting!
