Plants VS Zombies 2 - Finally on Android!

I dunno if anyone got addicted to the first one as bad as I did (bought 5 physical copies) but I am quite excited about this game! It released on IOS a few months back and I don't have Apple anything so I've been anxiously awaiting for it to hit Android. Just in time for Halloween to boot!

Well that excitement was brief. Apparently my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 just isn't powerful enough to play it correctly and the game has a hard time playing it. Excitement officially fizzled.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I didn't know there was a Plants vs Zombies 2. I really enjoyed (and still do sometimes) the first game. I don't have iOS or Android though. Reading around the net I think if it ever came to PC I'd wait to see more reviews since it sounds like some aren't finding it as fun as the first. But it also seems people are saying it'll probably be an Origin-only thing since this one was also made by EA, which is a shame if it doesn't popup on Steam or something (which is where I got the first one). Also stumbled across this interesting article, sounds like some in the comments there and on GameFAQs are saying the Free to Play setup has turned it into a bit of a dull grindfest. :?

I do have to agree somewhat. The main levels are entertaining enough, but some of the challenges are made intentionally very difficult to encourage you to buy extra coins, unique plants or upgrades. Unlike some other free to play games, much of this is not available if you just play for long enough. I started to tire of it about halfway through the challenges and haven't played it since.

That said, if you don't mind very difficult challenges that may take you 10+ attempts to complete, you may enjoy it more than I did.
Well, after stubbornly forcing my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 to play the game I've gotten a little ways into it. It runs slow but is still playable. In the levels I have played, the game seems to have lost its charm. It appears to be a superficial sequel at best. I think EA's influence on the game may have destroyed what made the original so good. I won't know for sure until I play more of it but I have the sense that EA wanted to market the hell out of this game. To try and get some of that Angry Birds money. Just license the hell out of it and make a cash grab.

I don't even know what to think about Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.

From what I can tell they missed the mark on this one. Don't get me wrong it's cute and everything but the heart seems to be missing in these games. When I get further in this game I'll give a better assessment. As for Garden Warfare, I think I'll be avoiding that one. I might give it a shot but . . . I dunno what they were thinking.

I remember when Bioware said nothing would change after EA bought them. Now they just make mass-market crap. Mass Effect and Dragon Age went downhill under EA. And they were a Canadian success story... :(
