tex fans unite!

Ditto from TOG.

I was telling a friend of mine about this whole idea, and she suggested we think about trying to schedule our gathering around a pre-existing consumer event where AC, CJ, and possibly others might be anyway. This would take some of the pressure off of the Access guys, so they don't have to be the sole focus of we, the crazy Faithful. :) Also, it would provide us alternative entertainment during the downtime surrounding whatever gathering we ultimately devise. I thought it was a very wise idea.

I don't know if that idea necessarily goes along with our date of March 2007. I have no idea when the big conventions are held, or even if anyone from Salt Lake would be in attendance or not. But I think the idea of having a sort of mini-convention within the scope of another, larger event is definitely an idea we should consider.
Firstly, welcome rockefeller! Always good to see new faces!

Secondly, James... I agree with pretty much any idea that promotes some kind of international involvement, in one form or another.

I hope to return to San Francisco for next years Noir City film noir festival, so that's my suggestion for time and place.

I'm assuming it will be held in January like it always has.

 Wow... I'm there!

Actaully... can you guys hold it off for a little while longer, I am trying to get a post-graduate international studies degree at UCLA next year!

But the annoying this is I don't know if I should work for a year first of just stick it out next year. I hear life in the US is pretty expensive for us Aussies.

You Aussies drink too much beer.

You ought to be. This year the festival spanned two weeks. I watched all of the 32 movies screened.

The celebrity visitors were a real treat as well.
I for sure would love to join the party :)

Maybe combine it with some other things to see and do in the States but Tex would be worth it :D
NSU is a way of life...
Let me go out on a little limb here.
The goal is to get as many folks together as possible. I would be MORE than happy to book several rooms for those with lesser sources of income. (provided that rooms can be shared, no 1 bunk Hilton's please)

There are plenty of hotels right near the airport, so almost no one has to rent a car. That leaves airfare and food. I don't know about you, but I can eat fairly reasonably.
One or two us can rent one of the larger vans to shuttle out for some site-seeing. They did hold the winter Olympics there, so there's got to be tons of cool things to do. (Besides pester the Access folks of course :P )

If it's something that we really want to do, and provided the powers that be agree... (and that is a big if) I think we should really go for it. Even if airfare is pricey... there's plenty of wiggle room to save a little bit at a time. That's the only way I was able to get my laser eye surgery done.

Anyone???? Bueller???

Damn. Well guess I'd be willing to bunk up with you if I HAD to, Jen.

*sigh* The sacrifices we make...

Ah yes, sacrafices. *sigh*

While San Francisco is the obvious choice, I think it would be in the best interests of CJ and AC if we met in Salt Lake City. 2 cents worth from TOG.

Could we get some official feedback from AC or CJ on this?

I'd say I'd be there with bells on, but after what happened that last time I wore bells somewhere, I shouldn't promise that anymore. So, I'll probably be able to go, without the bells, at a time next year.
