Let's stir something up!

So, I know we all know each other fairly well, from our years at the old stomping grounds, but that doesn't mean everyone remembers, ala Jim's alleged lapses of umm... umm... it's called something... ah! memory. So, why don't we all reintroduce ourselves, and get a nice conversation going!

I'll start.

I graduate in a year and i'm hopeing to get in the industry, watch out AC, i'm applying heh. I would like to work in the area of adventure and try to get this stuff going on agin, but really i'll take anything to start. i've been playing tex since about 94 and some of my fondest vigeogame memories lie with those games, probably my fondest. Nice to be able to chat on here with people that appreciate the good stuff
Okey dokey.

My name is Dave. I'm 23 and live on the Gold Coast of Australia. I spent the last couple years in Seattle enrolled at the Art Institute of Seattle studying animation. Things didn't work out and i'm back in Australia, but i'm looking into finishing off my degree here next year. In the meantime i'm creating an animated series for the web and working on a detective webcomic i started with a mate of mine.
Sheesh! All these young Tex fans! Such wonder!

Name: Jim TOG

DOB: BM (before money)
Age: A 100 years from now I'll be 158
Job: Security Sales (alarms, CCTV, card access, etc.)
Schooling: I think I graduated from high school in '64 (that's 1964 for any of you smart alecs out there)
Status: Married Dec. 21, 1968 to the cutest little girl I've ever met and still married to the same cutest little girl I've ever met
Children: Four (and that's why we didn't have five)
Hobbies: Need you ask? Besides Tex I love to read mysteries, political intrigue, etc. - all fiction! I love to play golf although my score would seem to indicate otherwise. Love to fish, as well. Nothing like sauteed perch or walleye fillets.
Future prospects: Death, mostly, but many good years to go until that time (hopefully).
Odds & Ends: I love this board, its members and anything Tex related. I feel like an empty spot in my life was filled the day I was introduced to UAKM and then this message board.

I am Jim the Old Guy's evil understudy.

Name: Shawn McDonie
Age: 30
Occupation: Medical Admin
Previous Employment: Army, Stock Broker, PC Sales,

I am not quite as old as the old guy but I am learning and hope one day to take his place as the old guy. Until then I continue to learn and go older.

I started out programing on the old Trs-80's back in the late 1980's. I found Tex kind of late in my gaming life but have loved every minute of it. Today I am trying to amass the largest PC game collection this side of the planet. Unfortantely the forces of evil (my wife) (jk) are bent on stoping me from attaining this honorable goal. Perhaps one day I will get the upper hand....
Let's see,
My name is Jason. I'm 26 years old and an attorney in Gainesville, Georgia (about an hour north of Atlanta), which is the self-proclaimed "poultry capital of the world" (I can only assume that all of the other good nicknames for a town were already taken). I am married, but with no children (yet--my wife tells me my child-free days are numbered). I enjoy cars (I am a huge F1 fan), rugby, reading (I enjoy a wide variety of books), golf, and, of course, Tex and other adventure games (I'm still awaiting a new Zork game ... I haven't given up hope just yet).
Hello all, again.
My name is Aaron and I am the unofficial Tex ambassador to the Holy Land (Israel).
I am currently post Law School and doing my internship with a large Corporate Law Firm in Jerusalem (you must do a 12 month internship before you can take the bar exam here).
I am happily married (6 years, in three weeks) and have two wonderfull children which make it all worth while... :D
I was a member of the old board for many many years, and now I am a member of the new board even longer then JTOG
Anyway, I miss the emoticons (smileys) on the old board...
-Giv
Pernell: "...I can't get an angle on you. It bugs me. What's your weak spot?"
Tex: "Uh... math."
(The Pandora Directive)

I can relate to that..... :)
Hello, I'm David, I'm 31 and a lawyer in the UK, working in Fleet Street, London. I am renovating the 3 bed apartment I live in with my ex-girlfriend and hope to get it done within the next two or three months. I've been a member of the board for a few years now and viewed posts on the board for a few years before I got actively involved. I can't remember how long to be honest, but probably not as long as most others here.
Great idea, new board, new beginnings...

Where will I be in 20 years time: Somewhere, but always in touch with this place.

You know, the more I think about, the more I am really interested in what the future holds for this community I am sure many of us are going to move onto to oter things in the years to come, but I wonder who is still going to be around in 5 years time, 10 years time? I certainly hope I am, and certainly hope everyone keeps in touch in one way or another through the coming years.

Almost out of High School, and I'll be moving to BC soon (about a year) to start acting! Acting is definetly my passion, but I think I'll stay in Canada, I prefer it here. Film acting is what I'm hoping for, but I've done some stage stuff (like a $52,000 local production of Les Miserables, and $40,000 of Aida).

Maybe you'll know my name in a few years...
Nick Vracar
22 years...might be 23. I keep forgetting.
Chicago, Illinois, USA.

My current, and growing interest is writing. Mostly science fiction, or at least something in which several people, or everybody, dies in some sort of horrible fashion.
DrPaul here. So far, it looks like I'm the second oldest one here. I'll be 54 in October. Yes, DrPaul really is a doctor, but not the "Take two of these and call me in the morning" kind. The Dr in DrPaul is for Doctor of Physics.

For fun, I like bicycling, unicycling, off-roading, sports car racing, hot rods, sailing, adventure games and movies.
Hi all!
I've posted a few times on the old forum, but never about me:

Name: Artur Soares.
Age: 20 and counting
Location: Brasília, Brazil.
Job: Spend my money on cds. Still at university for Computer Science. In my (great load of) spare time, I write music, mostly for orchestra, all with early 19th century in mind. In my (other) spare time I play the piano. In my (neverending) spare time I play Tex games and Blizzard ones. If I have any time left (lol) I do some coding for my courses at the university.

Hey there, I'm ExaKun, aka Alex.
I live in a small country called New Zealand (affectionally dubbed "The Shire" :P) and work part-time for a company as a sysadmin. Currently I'm studying for a BSc in computer science at the local university, I hope to get into gamedev in the future.

Random fact: While looking through my old games a few days ago, the back of the UAKM CD case still had the 'New release' sticker. I laughed.
